Whilst browsing Highsnobette, I came across these exclusive backstage images from the Sally LaPointe Spring 2012 collection, taken by Hannah Newbery at NYFW, and I am in love. The inspiration for the collection came from decaying architecture, specifically “The Renwick Ruins” in Staten Island, New York. LaPointe digitally created prints to look like the hospital’s crumbling walls and peeling paint, which were then incorporated into some pieces in earth tones, neon colours, and black. LaPointe’s collection featured both strong, angular silhouettes alongside much more soft, fluid shapes. Check out images via Highsnobette and NYmag‘s backstage video below.
