I recently attended a very exciting AW12 press day at Harvey Nichols Manchester and afterwards received a goodie bag full of the most amazing samples! Amongst those was my new favourite mascara: ‘Shocking’ by YSL. At £23 it is more expensive than my usual mascara (Max Factor False Lash Effect, £10.99 @ Boots) and considerably more expensive than my ’emergency’ mascara (Primark, £1 reviewed here) however the quality definitely matches the price.
The brush is medium sized and easy to use and be accurate with, and the packaging of both the sample (black) and full sized (gold, image c/o Harvey Nichols) products is simple and stylish. The Below is a photo of my eye with two coats of YSL Shocking mascara, however with more layers you can achieve even longer and blacker lashes, and the mascara stays on without crumbling all day or all night, making it a perfect and less hassle alternative to false lashes for an event or a night out.
Overall I would absolutely recommend this mascara and despite the high price you do get what you pay for! YSL Shocking mascara is available from the YSL counter of any Harvey Nichols.

i have the normal ysl mascara and its not too bad, i would use more YSL if i had the money but tbh i use a varied expensive makes up make up and i wouldnt say theres one i prefer the most. What about you? do you stick to certain brands for certain stuff?
