Ah rainy, rainy London. It’s like I never bloody left Manchester. As you can probably guess by the state of my hair, I got a bit wet before taking shelter in Borough Market for these snaps of my velvet and denim combo. Borough Market is one of those places that I’ve often walked through, but can’t imagine ever buying anything from (although if I’m ever in need of an artisan jam or unjustifiably posh olive oil, I know where to look).
As I’ve gone on (and on) about before, velvet is one of my fave ‘party-wear’ textures. Styling it down for the daytime is sometimes a little more tricky, especially when the velvet piece in question has a (very) plunging neckline. I don’t want to hide this Reformation piece away for nights out though, especially when they are few and far between in miserable miserable January, so here I paired it with my fave high waisted, wide leg jeans, and brown faux suede boots (which conveniently are an almost perfect colour match for the unique brown shade of the top). Thoughts?

I’ve always meant to go to this market but then again who really wants to spend and arm and a leg on expensive jam? Velvet is such a tricky day time look but you’ve styled it out so well
