New Year’s Eve is a tricky one. Finding something to do that you didn’t have to buy a £20 ticket for in October and isn’t rammed full of people you either don’t know or don’t like, figuring out how to get home afterwards, and of course deciding what to wear, all near impenetrable barriers to having an actual good time. When it comes to an outfit, I always want to go a bit extra for NYE (and I have got my eye on a full length sequin dress for the occasion, but more on that later). I think I’ve found a perfect happy medium with this ensemble which I based around this fantastic metallic silver skirt. The skirt, which is listed as petite but I’m 5’6″ and it’s a good ‘mini’ length imo, is a nice alternative to something sequinned and I think will work well dressed down with a t-shirt and some trainers for daytime, especially in the summer. For a NYE idea I paired it with this very pretty satin cami top, a massive shearling jacket (because I’m spending the 31st in The North and it’s bloody cold), and some big shiny burgundy boots. To finish off the outfit, fishnet tights in the same colour as your skin tone are a good way to keep your legs warm without having to wear black tights or nude granny tights. Happy new year!
