I love a logo. It’s a bit bait, and probably a result of never owning them as a kid (‘you want a shirt that costs HOW MUCH?!’ ‘SEVENTY POUND TRAINERS?! off to infamous northern discount shoe store Tommy Ball’s with you’), but nonetheless here I am ready and willing to spend seventy quid on a jumper (and seven on a pair of socks) for the sake of cool branding. I also think that you can get away with looking altogether more slobbish if you’ve got a nice logo to distract everyone.
Team a great logo with a cool brand collaboration (hello Weekday) and you have me, fickle fickle me, hook line and sinker. The Weekday x Champion collection isn’t all that dissimilar from regular Champion, but in a selection of more muted colours and more Weekday-esque silhouettes. Plus it’s a bloody damn sight cheaper than Vetements x Champion. I opted for this sweatshirt because I like the mushroom-y brown colour and oversized logo and love being almost unreasonably comfortable. For a really cold day I wore it over a rollneck and with a pair of Zara sale casual trousers, and finished my outfit with my new Reebok ‘princess’ trainers, which are similar to the Classics but not real leather, and very aptly named. Because I am a princess.
