After all this time, I am still no less of a sucker for a ‘micro-trend’, and my current obsession du-jour is a cherry print. I don’t even like cherries (to eat), but please dress me head to toe in a sweet little printed or embroidered version. Is that the fruity equivalent of wearing the t-shirt of a band you don’t listen to? Sweeter than the fruits themselves is the price of this (much more expensive looking) top: a very modest £19. There is also a dress version, which I have obviously bought.

My jeans, which are new at French Connection, have quickly become a favourite. They are the perfect mid-waist, straight legged, cropped fit and are also incredibly soft and comfortable. The ‘hyper blue’ colour makes them show-stealing enough to wear with a simple white vest and sandals if this summer that is threatening to arrive finally does so.
