Although my local Size? store in Manchester is great for men’s trainers, unfortunately it’s very small and there’s no room for the awesome range of clothing which is available online and in other stores across the country. Yesterday I visited Leeds with my boyfriend, and picked up some great items from the bigger and better Leeds Size? store.

Everyone loves New York, Paris, Milan and of course London Fashion Weeks, but sometimes we forget that there are others across the globe which are definitely worth investigating. VICE is putting together a series called ‘Fashion Week Internationale’, which will explore ‘the most fabulous fashion events in the world, and the culture and politics behind them’. I am looking forward to what sounds like a really interesting series! Check out the series trailer below, and below that a sneak peek of the first episode, where VICE travels to Islamabad for Pakistan’s second ever fashion week. Watch this space, and the VICE website, for the release of the full episode.
When announcing the collaboration a while back, designer Donatella Versace said: “For me this is an opportunity to show to a very very big audience what Versace has been and what Versace is now.”
H&M creative advisor Margareta Van Den Bosch says that the collection, which will include 40 pieces for women and 20 for men as well as accessories, will look back at iconic pieces from the brand dating back to the ’80s.
Donatella has also designed a pre-spring collection for the Swedish retail giant, which will only be available in countries with H&M on-line sales starting on January 19.
Recently I decided that I needed some new skirts, so I went a little crazy and bought 5! This is one of them, and at only £6 (from a discount store called Steals in Blackburn) I think I can be let off. The others I bought were: this Topshop pencil skirt (which I bought with a gift card so the £30 price tag doesn’t count!); a similar pencil skirt from BooHoo.com which due to it being very ill fitting I’ll probably send back (£15); another maxi skirt, this time black, from BooHoo (£10), and a rust coloured bodycon mini for £5 from Steals.
Bring your iconic Vans Authentics up to date with this very ‘on-trend’ cord fabric for Holiday 2011. Japanese retailer Beauty Youth has collaborated with Vans once again to produce three classic colourways in gorgeous corduroy, due for release in November 2011. (images via Highsnobiety)
I’ve been in love with these Stussy x Made Me ‘S+M’ leggings ever since I saw them back in August on the gorgeous Charlotte Free, and I FINALLY got round to ordering my own pair! They arrived today, and I’m so pleased with them, especially seeing as they were the last pair. Unfortunately, I was sent size S (as opposed to XS which I ordered) so they are a tiny bit big. However, it’s nothing that a wash & dry and a slight change in position of the button can’t sort out. I received a lovely email from Made Me explaining the situation, and was of course offered a free return if they weren’t right, so big love to them for that.
As I said before, I managed to cop the last pair of these so unfortunately the striped version is now sold out, but if you want something similar check out Black Milk Clothing, or Motel do some great striped jeans. Don’t forget to send me some hypes and other feedback on Lookbook, happy shopping!
Created by Stephane Raynor, BOY London has been around creating iconic looks since the 1970s. After a not so brief hiatus in the 90s, BOY returned to the streets of East London a few years ago by means of a store named SICK. Since then, BOY has collaborated with Urban Outfitters, and whether you love or hate that, it has certainly given the brand a lot more exposure to the masses. LONG Clothing, although a more recent venture founded in 2008 by young designers Gareth Emmett and Rhys Dawney, has a very similar aesthetic to BOY, making this collaborative exhibition perfect.
London photographer Teddy Fitzhugh photographed the LONG Clothing x BOY London exhibition in Tokyo recently, and here are the results. The idea was to create a collection which expresses and embodies the identity of both brands. Leather, tattoos and studs galore does not leave me disappointed, and I also like the unorthodox shots where no branded clothing can be seen.
Regarding the exhibition, LONG stated: “The collection focuses around a group of friends whose lives embody a distinct attitude and spirit found in both brands. The photos intend to provide a reflection, not only of their relationships with each other, but also of the distinct connection between the clothing and their lifestyles.”
Check out a selection of photos from the exhibition below (via LONG Clothing), and click here for the full shoot.
I received this gorrrrgeous t-shirt from Naked Bones today, I love it! If you’re local to London, be sure to check out their stall on Brick Lane every Sunday. If not, like the Naked Bones Facebook page to keep updated on where else they will be selling! There is also a Naked Bones Twitter, if you prefer.
I finally got the Topshop pencil skirt I’ve been lusting over too, it’s a great wardrobe staple because it goes with practically anything, and I love the shape.
Don’t forget to leave me some feedback on Lookbook, and leave me your Lookbook urls too!
The reportedly ‘open to all’, fantastically eccentric Spring Summer 2012 Vivienne Westwood Gold Label show at Paris Fashion week was unsurprisingly special. Westwood took a huge influence from China for this collection, supposedly targeting the new and ever growing fashion market in China, which is obvious in a good number of the looks, for example with the Mao caps and jackets. Dame Vivienne noted “I have always loved the Mao cap, though I hate violent revolution”. Other influences included the desert – because of climate change, and of course 17th Century corsets. The collection also featured some unmistakably Westwood pieces (not that it is ever easy to confuse her work with the work of another), for example the ‘consumerism disguised as anti-consumerism’ ‘I ♥ CRAP’ clutch. As usual, the beautiful bridal wear was certainly a highlight of the collection for me, namely a stunning sequinned lace gown with some equally gorgeous bridesmaids’ dresses alongside. Take a look at the full collection below (images via Elle).
