Laid back outfit for a lazy day of catching up with LFW shows – nothing more to it!
Welsh designer Julien MacDonald has blown me away with his gorgeous Spring Summer 2012 collection, shown this afternoon at LFW. Although in my opinion not as fun as this morning’s Ashish collection, there were some super-sharp silhouettes in the form of blazers, shorts and beautifully cut dresses. The military inspiration is clear, as well as some metallic elements and a glamorous overall look. The fluid dresses combined with boyish, military shapes makes Julien MacDonald one of my favourite LFW 2011 designers so far. It seems that everyone is impressed by Ashish’s Spring Summer 2012 collection, shown at London Fashion Week this morning, and it’s obvious why! Combining their trademark sequins and tough shapes with pretty floral prints inspired the the French countryside, Ashish’s SS12 collection certainly contains some must-have pieces for the warmer weather next year. If you didn’t catch the live stream this morning, check out these few images (via glam.co.uk), and video clips of the show (via Rightster) below!
The Museum of FIT in New York launched it’s Daphne Guinness exhibit on Thursday night, bringing together the worlds of art and fashion in one fabulous event. Daphne reportedly chatted to anyone and everyone who approached her all night, such a gracious woman and role model! Check out some images from the night -both of the collection and the guests – below (via Highsnobette) and go here for more info on the must-see exhibit.
After a crisp, clear and very cold start to the day on Thursday, I started looking forward to all the cute jumpers I have waiting for winter in my wardrobe! During the day, I wear this with thick black tights and black or brown ankle boots. I’d like to try it with burgundy tights for a pop of colour!
Sass & Bide’s Spring Summer collection, shown today at London Fashion Week, has certainly caught my eye! Reportedly based around Japanese influences, collegiate colour palettes and contrasting textures, the Australian duo put out an impressive collection onto the catwalk in the beautiful Royal Opera House. It featured striking neons, fun prints, statement clutches and jewellery (and eyebrows!), and a gorgeous structured nude dress (first images). Don’t forget to check out the video of the show (via Righster) below.
The ever eccentric Betsy Johnson certainly hasn’t failed to impress with her Spring/Summer 2012 collection at New York Fashion Week. Most looks are based around the cheeky on-show bra, glitz and glam, and general appreciation of the female form and all things girl. An extravagantly dressed Nicki Minaj, amongst other celebs, sat front row for the show.
Although I wouldn’t wear everything myself, it is definitely an impressive collection. I love the quirky black and white prints, the sparkling bras, dresses and headpieces, and the overall look of the models with their bright pink lipstick and gorgeous hair. What are your thoughts?
I’m lusting over these black, white and purple Nike Air Max 1 ‘Navajo’ trainers, probably my favourite from the recent Aztec pack. Sadly I don’t think they’ll be available in ladies sizes! They’ve already dropped in Switzerland, so keep an eye out at your local retailer.
