Following her tragic death last month comes Amy Winehouse’s second and last collaborative effort with Fred Perry. It is a great collection, in my opinion, and although I wouldn’t wear everything, there are definitely some strong pieces which I’ve added to my wishlist. My favourites are the houndtooth pencil skirt and short sleeve sweater, the black high waisted skinny trousers and the gorgeous bodycon dress. The collection also includes some innovative reworkings of the classic Fred Perry polo shirt, as well as great accessories, and cute shoes. The entire collection is available to buy here.
I am blown away by this bold new collection from iconic footwear designer Ruthie Davis. I want every shoe, especially the Microcompact in black and racecar green, the Ace models, the Zink Deluxe and all the flat shoes too. Check out the Ruthie Davis website here for more shoes, and a fantastic collection of handbags to match. Which are your favourites?
Supreme have lived up to the hype once again with their new fall/winter lookbook. As well as some obvious pieces featuring the classic block capitals and box logo, Supreme have produced some more sophisticated garments, including some super stylish jackets, which I love. The collection drops in Supreme stores on the 27th of August, and will be in the new London store on the 22nd of September. (images via Highsnobiety).
T by Alexander Wang is the ultimate simple yet stylish label for both men and women. The new men’s collection for fall 2011 is a perfect representation of the label, using layering as well as comfortable fits and textures to create a series of slick looks. (images via Hypebeast).
Penfield is, in my opinion, a really strong brand, particularly when it comes to their outerwear collections. This selection from the fall/winter jackets is no exception, I can’t decide which is my favourite! The Lakerville jacket in royal blue is a great piece, I think, but I also love the more subtle colourway. There is of course also the Kasson jacket, I especially like the Tweed Kassons. I also love that there is a selection for women. What do you think? (Available for pre-order here, images and info from Highsnobiety).
I finally got round to wearing this dress I got in the Topshop sale the other month, I love it! I also finally bought a mini-bag for a bargain £6 at Primark. This look is quite plain, but I think that works best sometimes. Admittedly for the actual night out I bailed on my fabulous heels and wore leopard print ballet flats instead, but the intention was definitely there with the heels. As always hypes, fans and any feedback is appreciated! Leave your Lookbook urls and I’ll be more than happy to take a look.
The Nike SB Stefan Janoski is still increasing in popularity, and with these fresh new colourways for spring 2012, the shoe certainly won’t be slowing down in the near future. The blue is a leather/suede mix, and the grey is all fleece which looks super comfy. Personally, I love this shoe but unfortunately they’re very difficult to find in smaller women’s sizes! I managed to cop a size 4.5 in the original black colourway, which I love, but it would be nice to have more options. Images of the new colourways below (via Pete Williams @ Highsnobiety).
Stussy, perhaps one of the biggest and most widely respected streetwear brands in existence, released their Fall 2011 lookbook yesterday. Every look is as classic as ever, aided by NYC photographer Peter Sutherland and the simple but effective desert backdrop. Check out the photos below (images via Hypebeast and Highsnobiety).
I’m getting quite good at keeping up to date with Lookbook again; every day, when I’m at home, I try to take a picture of my outfit to upload! I think Lookbook is full of too many people who create outfits specifically for the site, even if they’re not planning on going out that day, or at least wearing it to an upcoming event. I understand that creating new outfits and taking photos when you’re bored is great, but I think that Lookbook should be more about outfits you would actually wear! What are your views?
