As about half my wardrobe is black, black being a constantly reoccurring timeless winter trend is extremely handy. I’m always buying new black things, and where better to get basics on a budget that Primark! It’s obvious that anything bought in Primark isn’t exactly a great ‘find’, but with such low prices there’s sometimes no better value alternative, and it’s much easier than spending hours trawling through vintage or charity shops to save only a few pounds. I paid a very quick visit to Primark this week, and if you can stand the mess and the crowds I’d advise you to do the same soon if you want to pick up these items! Here’s what I got:

Despite a belated birthday trip to London with my boyfriend falling through because I was ill (boo), he bought me this gorgeous camo jacket from Urban Outfitters. Despite the pretty ridiculous price tag, it’s so much nicer than any charity, vintage or even military shop alternative I’ve found. My leggings are also a recent purchase, from romwe.com, they’re great! I love the idea, however after one wear two of the studs have already come off 🙁 I’ve managed to fix them, but I’m not sure how long they’ll last. My wintery boots are also new, they look just like the men’s Pointer boots which I love, and for only £36 from Topshop they’re a great buy!

I am completely in love with Ulyana Sergeenko‘s beautifully shot and quite honestly stunning A/W 2011 look book. There’s a distinct vintage, lady like feel to the Russian designer’s debut collection, which is reportedly inspired by the 1950s illustrations of Soviet Vogue. It features feminine, waist accentuating silhouettes and luxurious fabrics, as well as the pretty wallpaper and gorgeous ’50s hairstyles which really tie the whole look book together. I’m completely smitten! What are your thoughts?
In case you were, for some reason, in two minds about any of the pieces from the new H&M x Versace, see here how they look styled on the phenomenal Abbey Lee. Photos via Highsnobette.
Almost every piece in this tantalizing collection is on my wish list. From gorgeous dresses, to fierce printed leggings, skirts and jackets, to pretty scarves, everything is a carefully thought out embodiment of the Versace brand. Admittedly there are one or two dresses and accessories which I am not so fond of, but the rest of the collaboration – which although isn’t quite ‘H&M cheap’, it is way more affordable than your average Versace collection – certainly makes up for them. Check out the full 52 part collection below.
On & Beyond has created this awesome on-going photo series – ‘I Wish They Made This For Girls’ – a very relevant issue in many of our lives! Despite unisex fashion being all the rage, us girls miss out on so many great men’s styles when it comes to clothes and shoes, but the girls in this series still look fantastic rocking menswear brands like White Mountaineering, Sophnet, Stussy, Penfield, Engineered Garments, Supreme and 3sixteen.
“The amount of times I’ve actually heard a girl say “I WISH THEY MADE THIS FOR GIRLS” when looking at boys’ clothes goes beyond memory. From that quote, I’ve begun a little Photo Series project with some of the most gorgeous women in my life. Done right, the series should have that inexplicable umph most guys feel when waking up and seeing a girl in his t-shirt and boxers. Dressed in my clothes, they will, one by one be featured on the blog.”

A simple look, about which I don’t have much to say. This is my new skirt, which arrived from Romwe today. I love it! It’s just like the American Apparel accordion skirts, but in a heavier, almost velvety fabric, and much, much cheaper.
In other unrelated news – I went to see Bon Iver last night and was completely blown away! Anyone who ever gets a chance to see them should without a doubt go, even if you’ve never listened to their music before they put on a phenomenal show. I had a great night!
I recently bought this gorgeous coat for a bargain £18 from Primark, and today realised that the fur collar on it is actually detachable! This means that not only do I have two slightly different coats, but I also have a super nice faux fur collar to wear with other outfits. I always go on about how much I love versatile garments, but they really are great. Here I’ve paired the collar with a simple outfit, including all important thick wool tights for the autumn cold.
I’m also wearing my beautiful new Vivienne Westwood red diamanté heart earrings, which my boyfriend bought me for our anniversary last week. I’ve now got the full set, necklace, bracelet and earrings, from him; safe to say I’m very lucky!
Last night I made this mini-cross t-shirt using an old black t-shirt and some safety pins! I think it’s a really effective, cheap and easy way to create a unique look. When I have more safety pins, I think I might make the cross bigger on this t-shirt, or perhaps try a new pattern on a different shirt. Will you be trying this?
