Eek – I almost feel embarrassed about publishing event photos like these, because I don’t know the first thing about ~photography and am still getting to grips with my camera! But, as my karate Sensei (yes, really) used to say, practice makes better, so I may as well keep trying! 

ANYWAY, last Friday I was invited to Tia Maria’s Dark Room event in Manchester, part of a country-wide tour celebrating the drink and girls’ night outs. I’m not a big drinker, but I was nevertheless excited about the event! The cocktail of the moment was the Tia Maria Espresso Martini – as a big coffee fan I loved it; it’s definitely something I would order from a cocktail menu out of curiosity in the first instance, but after trying it I can confirm that it is something I’d order because it tasted great too. We were also treated to a cocktail masterclass to learn how to make the cocktail ourselves (although I’m sure it isn’t as easy as the fantastic bartender made it look). Cocktails aside, the event was fab – it was hosted by radio DJ and personality Gemma Cairney, and included complimentary hair-dos by Toni & Guy and limited nail designs from the fabulous WAH Nails!
