I will always have a soft spot for Primark and their extremely reasonably priced garments. Year after year I have been saying that they have been continually stepping up their game to content with high-street giants such as Topshop, H&M, River Island etc., and this autumn/winter is no exception. Look Magazine uploaded 75 of their Primark AW12 picks (you can see the full list here), and below I’ve selected a few of my favourites and some pieces which I will 100% be adding to my winter wardrobe. Primark is not available online, however you can purchase these pieces in store now or in the coming weeks.
In recent years I’ve become a bit of a trainer fiend, and although my beloved kicks don’t get much coverage on this blog I just had to post about my latest addition! The Nike Roshe Run Premium Digi Camo, an amazing women’s release which dropped on the Wellgosh store just the other day. The digi camo print is (obviously) amazing and the use of the port wine colour for the swoosh, stitching and the laces is a really nice touch, and Roshe is the most comfortable trainer I’ve ever worn! If you’re a UK size 4 then Wellgosh still have a few pairs left in your size here (at the time of this post), but don’t sleep on it because they’ll all be gone soon. Here I’m wearing them with a simple grey t-shirt dress from Topshop, a silver arm cuff I’ve had for years, sunglasses from Primark and a studded skinny belt from ASOS.

My college prom / leavers’ ball was last night, so I wore this amazing dress which was gifted to me by the wonderful Jones + Jones. Jones + Jones pride themselves on being a UK based brand which is inspired by the 40s and 50s but with a few modern twists, and for that they are by far one of my favourite brands for dresses! I adore the super flattering, extreme hourglass shape to many of their frocks, achieved by the use of full circle skirts with netting underneath for an added kick. For my prom I tried to continue the vintage feel of the dress, which is the Red Hot Prom Dress, by adding victory rolls to my hair and wearing a simple, bold red lip (Mac’s Ruby Woo) and a pair of Vivienne Westwood x Melissa Lady Dragon shoes. I would absolutely 100% recommend Jones + Jones to anyone with an event such as a birthday party, prom or even just a night out where you want to look amazing coming up.
Unfortunately, Jones + Jones only stock their dresses in UK sizes 8-12, so at the moment they don’t cater for plus size ladies or those who are size 6 or smaller (although I am usually a UK 6, but I found that this dress in an 8 was only a tiny bit loose around the wait and shoulders and on the whole fit well). However, if you are a size 8-12 then I think that Jones + Jones are a fantastic brand, and I would definitely buy from them in the future!
It might sound mundane to write this post from the ‘every girl needs a good LBD’ angle, but there is no other way to go about it because that statement is so true! This particular dress, which I received courtesy of AX Paris, is perfect: its use of faux leather panels and mesh make it an interesting and slightly different take on a classic LBD, whilst the figure hugging fabrics make it super flattering too. Here I decided to accessorise the black only with silver, including heels from Topshop, a simple clutch bag from Primark and these amazing embellished tights by Pretty Polly, which I received courtesy of Tights Please.
Click here to check out the dress over at AX Paris, now on sale for £19.99, and click here to view the Pretty Polly tights @ Tights Please which are £12.49 with free UK delivery.
I’ve been lusting over all the ‘mirrored island’ print pieces by Motel for a while now, so when they offered free delivery on all orders and I found a 20% off code I couldn’t resist purchasing the amazing Zoe Bodycon Dress. This print is the perfect and slightly more adventurous alternative to classic floral prints or this summer’s tropical print, which have both arguably been a little overdone already, and I’m completely in love with it! Here I paired it with Topshop tie-dye socks and premium ‘Silver Planet Tassle Loafers’ which I got on Ebay for £15, and a Ragged Priest style reworked vintage denim jacket with studded shoulders, also from Ebay.

Yet another galaxy print piece to add to my collection! Not that I’m complaining, I think that this beautiful asymmetric dress which I got courtesy of Romwe is my favourite yet. It will be amazing with a denim jacket, big sunglasses and black gladiator sandals for a summer’s day, or dressed up a little more like this for an evening out! Here I paired the dress with black and gold glittery tights from Topshop and my replica JC Litas from Ebay.

This week I received this beautiful satin off the shoulder dress courtesy of LOVE, and these amazing glittery spiked shoes which I used my Romwe blogger freebies towards! I absolutely love both pieces, the fit and the print of the dress is gorgeous (I plan to wear it to my college prom / leaver’s party so expect more photos next month!) and the shoes speak for themselves. You can get the LOVE dress on sale for just £18 here, and the Romwe shoes here.
Here, I paired my two new items with my Topshop leather biker and a pale skinny belt from Next.
Although as a whole this collection doesn’t completely blow me away, I’m pretty impressed with some of the pieces Primark have come up with for Summer! Amongst the now over-hyped and over-done aztec leggings and occasional uninspiring print, Primark’s Summer offering includes some real gems.
They have hit the neon-nail on the head with the pink and yellow bralets (£5 each) which will look amazing and bang on trend if styled right (think black or nude chiffon skirts or high waisted denim Levis), and the neon platform heels at a bargain £12 will make the perfect statement for an evening out. If neons aren’t your thing, I’m also very fond of the gorgeous nude, orange and leopard print platform heels, and the collection also includes some very pretty midi dresses, amazing tortoise shell sunglasses, intense statement jewellery and an adorable Rockabilly-esque cars print bodycon dress, and with the recession friendly prices taken into account, Primark’s Summer collection is not one to sleep on!
