Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie – We Should All Be Feminists
#InternationalWomensDay – I don’t care if you’re a feminist because your mother took you to rallies in a pushchair and raised you on feminist literature, because you learnt about it on Tumblr or from Laura Bates and the Everyday Sexism Twitter, or because Beyonce said it. Feminist: a person who believes in the social, political and economic equality of the sexes – We Should All Be Feminists.

This is a repost from my Instagram, and for that I apologise, but by some oversight I didn’t prepare a post for today in celebration of IWD. My thoughts on this topic are unlimited, but I think this succinct message inspired by Chimamanda Adichie’s essay is an important one. I’ll be spending the rest of my day listening to girl bands (I have a post about those in the works, too) and seeing some of my favourite ladies. I’ve embed the original TEDx talk which Adichie expanded on for her book, watch it and think about how freaking great women are.
Happy International Women’s Day!
