Happy birthday to me! Today is my birthday, although this is actually an outfit I wore last week. This adorable daisy print jumper from Chicnova is lovely and chunky, so it’s perfect for the crappy weather we’re having. I paired it with a Topshop tube skirt and my new “”Moschino”” belt from Romwe, I do feel a little sketchy wearing a replica which actually has a brand name on it, however it looks great and my Vivienne Westwood bag is authentic, so I think I’ll live!
So I have stayed true to my word and ended up with another piece in Motel’s fab Mandala print! I really love the fit of this dress from MeeMee, it’s the perfect relaxed fit for casual wear but could easily work with some big chunky heels for a night out. I’ve already gone on enough about how much I like this print (see my posts featuring the Mandala Kimono here and here), but it definitely works on this dress equally well. I paired it with all black some silver accessories (the longer necklace was a bargain £2 from Primark) and a deep purple lip (Mac’s ‘Media’).
Screw Blurred Lines and have some clean ones instead! I wore this outfit last week before the temperature dropped, but I can’t wait to wear this top from frontrowshop.com throughout autumn and winter as the pale pink shade is perfect. Here I paired it with my white Zara style skirt from SheInside, amazing new Primark coat, Zara bag and Missguided boots.
Worn together I think that the pieces are super summery, however I definitely think that the top will work into autumn/winter worn with darker colours. I love the shape of the top too!
I went to Disneyland!!! I was lucky enough to go to Disney in Florida when I was 8, but I honestly think it was almost as much fun this time around. I’m not really a theme park person, I hate UK theme parks because I can hardly manage any rides due to horrible motion sickness, and they’re generally pretty dirty and crap places to be, but Disney is another story altogether. It’s such a great experience, everything is spotlessly clean, the streets and the shops and general scenery and atmosphere are amazing, and there are only a few rides which I think would make me sick so I have plenty to do all day. Not that anyone needs persuading that Disneyland is great, I’m sure…
Outfit: Dungarees – Motel* | Top – River Island | Sandals – Matalan* | Bag – Primark
I wore Bourjois ‘Blue No Blues’ on my nails throughout my holiday, I had been searching for the perfect turquoise shade for a while and this is exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately it exploded in my suitcase on the flight home (!!!!!) so I don’t have much left now (and I am down a dress and a shirt!), but it was definitely amazing while it lasted.
I’m back! California was amazing, I only got to see a tiny part of it comparatively speaking, but it was a really unforgettable experience nonetheless. I plan on showing you some parts of my holiday over the course of a few posts, but if you want a look at snapshots of the whole thing, check out my Instagram – hannahlouisef.
One of my days was spent around LA, sightseeing in Hollywood and shopping on the super cool Melrose Avenue.
Melrose Avenue is a very eclectic mixture of shops and eateries, it has everything from designer to taxidermy to Subway, but my favourites were definitely the huge and quite reasonably priced vintage stores. I was pleasantly surprised at most of the pricing, as the big vintage stores in Manchester have (in my opinion) started hugely overpricing some things and it is often much more worth your while searching online or in charity shops for bargains.
