Although I’m not religious, for lent this year I gave up buying clothes. However, this has resulted in an influx in the number of shoes I own! The latest addition to my collection are these fabulous lace-up flats from H&M. The combination of the main nude colour and the neon yellow laces and soles completely won me over and I had to have them. At £30 they’re not a huge steal, however I don’t think that they’re overpriced either. I can’t wait to wear them!
Today I wore double Primark, oops! I finished the outfit off with my usual Topshop leather biker jacket, some new lace trim socks (also Topshop) and my black creepers. I can’t get enough of mixing leopard print with bright block colours, this time I tried it out with a bright pink, silky textured t-shirt and I love the effect.
Today I attended an open day at the University of Manchester to learn about my future course (if all goes to plan when it comes to my exams.) I wore my ASOS neon pencil skirt with a black sheer shirt (Urban Outfitters), leather biker jacket (Topshop), my Topshop studded slipper flats and a Primark skull print scarf.
And on an unrelated note I got a new backpack for college, the Jansport Right Pack:
River Island is a store which rarely crosses my mind when I’m asked to list my favourite places to shop because normally, with the exception of a few pieces, their collections aren’t to my taste. However, I’m really impressed by the River Island SS12 collection as a whole! I’m head over heels in love with the black and white studded pencil skirts and matching bralets, it’s inevitable that one of those pieces will work its way into my wardrobe this summer. I also love a couple of the dresses, the use of white crochet and lace fabrics, the bold prints and use of metallics. Check out some of my favourite outfits and pieces below, and view the collection in full here.
I finally gave in and got a pair of creepers! Technically they’re a Christmas present from my boyfriend, so they’re going to be hidden away at his house until Christmas time. I got this neon pencil skirt from ASOS while they had 25% off for NUS card holders, I love it. It’s so bright that I feel I can only wear it with black, white, grey and nude, but until now I was definitely missing this shade in my wardrobe. Apologies for the lack of ‘personal style’ blogging, I’ve been ill in my PJs and then busy after I recovered this week.
