Last weekend the lovely people at Warehouse invited me to check out their Urban Garden Party event in their Manchester store. With discounts and free hair-dos from Toni & Guy (these photos were taken before I got my hair done, clearly) and a free plant if you spent over £70 (I love plants!!) it was a very sweet little drop in. I wore some new Warehouse occasion-wear for the occasion (say occasion one more time), in the form of this ultra sleek and very glam strapless jumpsuit in a black glitter fabric. As I was in this outfit all day I dressed it down with a pair of Converse (as well as the leather biker plus boyfriend coat combo), but the jumpsuit is so lovely and flattering and I can’t wait to pair it with some ridiculous heels when I have an excuse to dress up. How adorable are Grafea’s mini backpacks, by the way?

I’m so excited about the increasingly bright evenings; looking at these weirdly lit photos causing me a much deeper frustration than is even remotely reasonable, ~~blogger problems~~ amirite? Anyway, here’s a super casual outfit about which I do not have a lot to say. I am particularly fond of this tight fitting, ribbed khaki coloured top (and its half length sleeves) from Topshop, which I’ve paired with super high waisted raw hem ASOS jeans. I really want the jeans in black now, too!

HAPPY CRAP!
Every now and again, a gal just has to dress like a small child. I wore this infantile ensemble for a nice afternoon out on a nice sunny day… nice. This Lazy Oaf t-shirt is so adorable it immediately puts me in a good mood, I’m not entirely sure what ‘happy crap’ means (perhaps it refers to crap that is happy, e.g. cartoon bunnies) but I like it anyway. I paired it with a matching red lip, an American Apparel denim circle skirt, and my fave Converse (from one collaboration with Comme Des Garçons Play).

In which I try to make a suede jacket and denim skirt combo more fun…
The suede jacket / denim button-through skirt combo is a go-to for me at the moment, so I’m currently trying to think of ways to change it up a little. Here I tried it through colour with this quite quirky striped long-sleeve in various shades of blue – I like how it compliments the blue denim but contrasts with the tan suede and my red hair. Thoughts?

So skinny jeans aren’t exactly the trickiest garment to style, but despite the fact that you can wear them with almost anything I often find myself getting stuck in a rut with them; I’ve been pairing mine almost exclusively with band t-shirts or roll neck jumpers and a leather jacket at the moment. I wanted to push myself a little and think of a few new ways to style my new ‘shaping skinny’ jeans from H&M for everyday wear, let me know in the comments which your favourite is!

And once again, the jeans in all these outfits are the black ‘shaping skinny regular‘ from H&M! They’re super comfortable and unrestrictive, and with a noticeable lift in the right areas, ideal.

Living in Manchester, it isn’t all that often that I get to spend time with my blogger friends from all over the UK (and beyond), so this London Fashion Week some of my favourite rainbow-haired gals and I capitalised on the rare opportunity of being in close proximity to one another and shot some photos together with Oscar May.
As you may have seen if you follow any of us on Instagram, we worked together with BooHoo (who kindly put us up in a hotel together – more on that sleepover to follow…) and took over their Instagram for the day, whilst wearing predominantly BooHoo clothes. You can get the full details on my outfit in this post, and check out the other girls’ blogs (linked further down in this post) for info on theirs.
We had such a great time together; the combination of our coloured hair attracted a lot of attention at SH (a little embarrassing actually, I didn’t quite know what to do with myself) and frankly I felt like being a red-head was a bit of a cop-out next to the pinks, purples, blues and greens. On a related note, we’re currently recruiting the role of yellow-haired friend…
I’m completely obsessed with the resulting photos, my particular favourites being the girl-band-esque shots against the grey shutters and those of us walking into Somerset House in formation. We chose not to coordinate our outfits (or rather we weren’t organised enough to coordinate our outfits), but I think this worked out well in the end as our styles are just about similar enough to provide some cohesion.
What do you think of our little project? If you’re not already familiar, be sure to check out
and of course the talented

London Fashion Week – Day 3 Outfit
Boots – Clarks x Orla Kiely*
Photos by Lindsey @ ropesofholland
My third and final look of this season’s London Fashion Week – I stayed in London Thursday this time so only had 3 days on the cobbles. None of my outfits were overly formal, but I don’t really believe in dressing up to excess for days which involve far more running around than your average weekend. The focal point here are these incredible vintage suede shorts (nay, Lederhosen) which I was instantly drawn to when browsing the rails in Cow Manchester. They’re a really unique piece and the striking colours are fab, plus they nail the 70s / suede trend. I paired them with a sleeveless knit, grey denim jacket and go-to Clarks x Orla 60s style boots.
Thoughts? Check out my other LFW outfits here – let me know which was your favourite!

London Fashion Week – Day 2 outfit
Boots – ASOS (similar)
Sunglasses – Matalan* (similar)
Bag – H&M*
Necklace / belt – Primark
Photos by Oscar May
Day 2 of London Fashion Week, the Saturday, was when I chose to embrace the 70s trend a little. It was everywhere on the Friday (as I thought it might be) but, thankfully, I didn’t find myself getting sick of it and everyone looked incredible. I wore a BooHoo outfit for a shoot and Instagram takeover with some of my favourite bloggers with brightly-coloured hair (more on that to follow) consisting of a really cool loose fitting blouse with thin black stripes, and tan faux suede a-line mini, paired with thigh high suede boots. On top I wore my longline denim shirt/jacket/dress thing from Cow vintage, and (although once again I would have liked to forgo the coat, weather did not permit) my favourite teddy coat which turned out by happy coincidence to look quite cool with a matching H&M backpack. How great are these photos by Oscar, too?

Faux fur, faux denim…
Coat – Primark*
Jacket – Topshop (similar)
I wore this outfit for a nice day out shopping with my mum – buying this oversized faux fur, vintage looking coat from Primark in a few sizes too big was a great decision, I’m really into how obnoxious it looks! I like the colour contrast of it with my French Connection dress which is almost denim coloured, but is actually a super soft and lightweight tencel fabric which is going to be perfect in warmer weather. This is definitely one of the marginally more sophisticated outfits I’ve worn as of late: these pointed flats from Daniel Footwear are really fab because they look smart but are still very comfortable – I wore them all day shopping without a problem so full marks there. They’re also on sale for £31.99, down from £109.99! Finally, I’m carrying a beautiful new rosey nude coloured Davidoff bag on my arm, from their latest Icon collection – I have been stuck in a black-handbags-only rut recently, and this is the perfect piece to get me out of it. Thoughts?
Getting my countryside on…
Boots – Clarks x Orla Kiely*
Quite a drastic change of scenery here. I’m in my grandparents’ beautiful back garden at their home in the Lake District – I love living in a city but it is always really just nice to be able to be somewhere like this every now and again. I wore this outfit out for dinner for my grandmother’s 80th birthday (happy birthday again, I know you’re reading this!)
You can tell that I’m slowly but surely getting sucked into the 70s trend which I didn’t quite think I could pull off, but after buying this absolutely incredible suede jacket from Mango which I don’t think I’ll be taking off any time soon, it’s all downhill from here and soon I’ll be looking like I’m trying to tour with Stillwater and Penny Lane. Thoughts?
