Happy birthday to me! Today is my birthday, although this is actually an outfit I wore last week. This adorable daisy print jumper from Chicnova is lovely and chunky, so it’s perfect for the crappy weather we’re having. I paired it with a Topshop tube skirt and my new “”Moschino”” belt from Romwe, I do feel a little sketchy wearing a replica which actually has a brand name on it, however it looks great and my Vivienne Westwood bag is authentic, so I think I’ll live!
My latest colour obsession is pink pink PINK! It was everywhere at the AW13 fashion shows; one which stood out for me was Topshop Unique, pictured above. Unique mixed all sorts of shades and textures of pink to create mouthwateringly sweet looks, and now the pink trend is slowly creeping into the highstreet ready for the new season. I’ve selected a few of my favourite pieces from Topshop and Primark below:
I’m back! After moving into my new flat I’ve had no internet, but I’m home for the weekend and I’ll have internet at the new place on Wednesday (after what seems like a lifetime). Hooray! I wore this outfit the other week – this is technically a nightdress which I picked up in the Topshop sale, but it’s super pretty and sufficiently modest so I didn’t want to ~save it for the bedroom, so to speak. I wore it with a Primark chiffon shirt and amazing new ‘Raven Block Heel Trainers’ from MissGuided – I’ve lived in these since I got them! They have a small heel but are really comfortable, and go with almost anything. The boots are very similar to Topshop’s popular Activist boots and look expensive with their faux suede upper, but are much cheaper than the Activists at £32.99.
Orange was one of the biggest colour trends on the SS13 catwalks, with designers like Helmut Lang, J Mendel and Carolina Herrera sending models out in head-to-toe tangerine, and it’s a colour I’m really loving at the moment! Although I’m not seeing many other signs of summer here in Manchester, the highstreet is full of summery shades, from burnt orange to carrot to apricot and everything in between Below are a few of my favourite picks from Topshop:
My recent desire to get a new skirt and the latest ASOS sale has resulted in two new skirts, this being one of them! It is the ‘midi skirt in ponte check‘, reduced to a very reasonable £17.50. It always irritates me that you can’t use student discount on ASOS sale items, but I’m still super happy with my purchase.
Yesterday I wore it with an off-white high neck, long sleeve crop top as the checks are also an off-white colour and my new Jeffrey Campbell Jett boots which I managed to pick up for £45 on eBay! I’ve wanted these boots or something similar for a while, so I’m pretty happy with these too. I finished off my outfit with my trusty Topshop leather biker and off-white faux fur stole from eBay and my Lime Crime ‘suedeberry’ Velvetine.

Blue is a colour which I never used to be drawn to, but clearly that has changed! This outfit, which I wore at the weekend, is entirely blue – I love this shirt from Primark (another great Primark piece which doesn’t look like it’s from Primark!), slightly cropped and tailored dark navy trousers from JW Anderson’s first collection for Topshop (which I got in the sale for £20), my super cosy vintage jumper from Retrograde* and of course my super cute Liberty print Free Run 2s, which were a birthday present from my boyfriend last year. You might remember I worked with Retrograde a while ago as a model, but the brand is still going strong and acquiring more and more great men’s and women’s vintage stock (including more cosy knitwear like this jumper) at totally reasonable prices, and with free UK delivery which is always a selling point for me – Topshop online would have a lot more of my money if they didn’t charge £4!
