As you might be able to tell, this is an outfit I wore a couple of weeks ago, whilst it was still somewhat warm – I’m currently freezing and haven’t quite worked out how to use the heating in my flat… . I couldn’t resist sharing it though, this coat is just amazing! I love the colours and especially the tailored style; it is another Zara-esque bargain at £24 from SheInside, and I’m hoping to still get plenty of wear out of it throughout winter too (layers are everything!!). Here I wore it over this super pretty Missguided dress, which I wore in my Missguided blogger edit but have also worn a bunch of times since. I love wearing it with a few different interesting necklaces, which I’m finally starting to build up a decent collection of. I especially love my obsidian pendant by IndigoMoon – you can currently order similar pendants and other one-of-a-kind jewels from the lovely Sarah on the IndigoMoon Facebook page.
Screw Blurred Lines and have some clean ones instead! I wore this outfit last week before the temperature dropped, but I can’t wait to wear this top from frontrowshop.com throughout autumn and winter as the pale pink shade is perfect. Here I paired it with my white Zara style skirt from SheInside, amazing new Primark coat, Zara bag and Missguided boots.
One month ago Rihanna’s first collection for River Island went on sale in stores and online – I am not a Rihanna fan but, I LOVED this collection. Some pieces were not to my taste (those double jeans?!), but the simplicity, clean silhouettes and choice of fabrics of a lot of the pieces definitely was. The collection also wasn’t as overpriced as I was expecting it to be which was a definite positive – most pieces were not priced much over what you would expect anything similar from River Island to be, with the exception pf maybe the very basic t-shirts at around £20. I couldn’t choose just one piece to purchase, so I ended up with this gorgeous yellow silk dress (£70) and a beige maxi skirt with a slit and zip detail (£40). This dress is a perfect combination of a relaxed silhouette and a luxury fabric (although I am terrified of ruining the silk – a good tip is to wear a crop t-shirt underneath to prevent any notoriously difficult deodorant stains), and a bold neon colour. So far I’ve paired it with darker outfits like this as it’s still thick black tights weather, but in the summer it will look great with bare legs, sandals and maybe an oversized denim jacket.
I also recently purchased this ‘mini shopper’ bag from Zara which I love – it was included in my recent Zara wishlist post! Although white is not the most practical colour I’m still obsessed with it, I love the simplicity of it, and it’s a really cute size without being too small to fit anything in.
Did you pick anything up from Rihanna’s first collection for RI? What did you think of it?
You may have gathered from a couple of my recent posts that I’m obsessed with the colour white at the moment, and also with the newly rejuvenated monochrome trend. I love this 1960s-esque high neck a-line dress in a creamy white from AX Paris – I belted it because I think it suits me more, but I think it would look stunning without a belt on someone with a smaller chest. I wore a slicked back ponytail because I think it suits the sophisticated look of the dress, but dressed it down a little with my trusty Underground creepers. It could easily be dressed up with heels for a night out though! The dress comes in three other colours if you’re not feeling the white trend as much as I am, and at £25 I think it’s a great, simple piece to add to your wardrobe.
PS: Don’t forget to like my blog on Facebook 🙂
Wearing all white everything is one of the biggest trends this season, and is a department that my wardrobe is seriously lacking in. I’ve picked out some of my favourite items of white clothing (all Topshop, first photo) and accessories (all ASOS, second photo), some of which I hope to add to my clothes rail soon! White pieces are great paired with eachother, but they can also be worn with any other colour you like, making them super versatile and hopefully good value pieces. Happy shopping 🙂
