Sometimes you need an outfit that is smart without looking ‘club’; sometimes you just wanna wear your nice heels in a place that people might see them instead of stand, or spill their sticky drink, on them. This, I reckon, is one such outfit. Obviously it’s all about these fabulous shoes by Kurt Geiger‘s Miss KG brand, which stand out against the otherwise fairly plain clothes. The roll neck jumper paired with the skirt is very nondescript, but I think that this tailored, belted coat instantly makes anything look smart and altogether more classy. How great are these photos by Mohammed at Comb, by the way?
The Three Witches, but less Shakespeare and more The Craft. And without the magic powers. So maybe not witches at all really. I love shooting with my pals but haven’t had the chance to do so since much earlier this year (but let’s have a look at that again while we’re here). It’s a lot of fun to decide on a theme (ours was vaguely black, in case you couldn’t tell) and see how we each interpret it in our individual styles.
This particular shoot, with the fabulous Helen and Amy, was all about shoes. Specifically, new-gen British designer Ashley Williams’ brand new collection for Red or Dead. The collection, which can be viewed in full here and purchased at Schuh, was designed with Ashley’s own off-beat girl gang in mind. As great minds think alike and all, Helen and I both wore the Ellie (which also come in red), which is sort of edgy and literally star-studded update on the pointed boot that has been very much ~on trend~ for the past few seasons. Amy went for the very bold glitter platform Eve boots, which I think are a really great alternative to heels for a proper sparkly night out. Thoughts?
Jeans – vintage
After saying all of that, I’ve still managed to make this outfit predominantly black. I put a cropped roll neck jumper over the dress (because it’s proper cold at the moment), as well as a black faux suede biker which is also cropped at the perfect waist level, and my trusty thigh high boots.
