I have been here there and everywhere this summer. An invitation to my very first press trip abroad (to beautiful Stockholm) landed in my inbox in April, and since then I have been to Ibiza, Paris, Dublin, Rotterdam and Hamburg. This might not seem like much compared to some of my peers who are off to the Maldives every other week, but I feel very grateful for it. I am seeing parts of the world that I might not otherwise have ever seen, meeting interesting people and gaining some sort of new perspective on the world.
One of my most recent trips was to Rotterdam. Rotterdam is in the Netherlands (yes I did have to double check), a country I have never visited before but would really like to go back to. The precise reason for my visit was for the opening of Peter Lindbergh’s really incredible ‘a different vision on fashion photography’ exhibition, a huge collection of iconic photographs by the legendary photographer of some equally legendary women (including Cindy Crawford, who was in attendance and who yes I freaking did get a selfie with). If you do happen to be in Rotterdam for whatever reason between now and February 12th, I would highly recommend checking it out at the Kunsthal.
I really liked the vibe of the rest of Rotterdam. It is quite chill and industrial, with cute cafés and cool buildings and architecture. Here I am standing on one such piece of interesting architecture: a big yellow, wooden bridge that runs between different areas of the city (because why not really).
My outfit here is as simple as it gets; I have been wearing this top a lot lately because I think that it is a really easy way to make a casual outfit a bit more dressy. Imagine this outfit with a black band t-shirt – very 13 year old boy who skateboards – but with my fancy satin top I feel like I almost look like a real adult human. It also comes in a very classy shade of burgundy, and asos have loads of other great satin tops too.
