I love the Ray-Ban ’round metal’. I have never really quite been sure what my face shape is (sort of round with a bit of a pointy chin? looks much better from the side?) – I don’t feel like it really fits any of the obvious round, heart-shaped, oval, square categories, but is more of a combination face. Whatever shape it is, I have found that it suits smaller, round sunglasses the best. I can’t pull off the Wayfarer and wouldn’t touch an aviator, but I own three variations of the ’round metal’ (all of which are extremely necessary and not at all excessive). I’m wearing the latest pair, perhaps my favourite, here – they’ve got a red mirrored lens and are v cool.
On the subject of face shape, Ray-Ban are currently hosting a competition to (alarm emoji alarm emoji) win a trip to New York, by posting a selfie of you wearing Ray-Bans that suit your face shape. Find all the details here (and if you don’t have a pair, you can still enter by using their face shape colouring guide). Competition ends August 14th, good luck!
Here I wore my Ray-Bans with an outfit I wore for about 4 days straight because I was seeing different people each day: some polka dot trousers from Zara, red Topshop bodysuit (which also comes in a really sweet pale pink is a great alternative to the American Apparel version that I haven’t been able to find in stock despite weeks of searching, ugh), and a fringed faux leather biker.
