I don’t usually buy full outfits. I prefer instead to choose items individually, allowing my most basic instincts to take over and make decisions based on ‘OOH, PRETTY, WANT IT’, rather than anything more calculated or remotely sensible. When I was lazing around at home shopping the post-Christmas sales I spent a lot of time on the Topshop website and, in an out-of-character move, ended up selecting three items (one sale, two not) that just so happen to marry together perfectly (imo). It is perhaps one of my more ‘grown up’ outfits as of late, and each part of it demands a lot of attention in its own right (especially my dancing-lady-emoji blouse). As someone who really doesn’t wear much print in the first place, a print clash is not something I’m usually that into or that confident about wearing, but because both prints are quite subtle I think it’s much easier to get away with.
Prints aside, the most alarming thing about this ensemble is the fact that I am wearing heels. Heels! They’re no higher than any of the boots I wear regularly, but I haven’t bought or worn a pair of heel heels (you know what I mean) in months and months. They were just so damn adorable I couldn’t resist, and they’re still available in black at a reasonable 25 pounds.
