The Monthly Playlist Returns – March playlist

I started my Monthly Playlist feature in October 2016 with every intention of keeping it up each month. As often is the case, life got in the way and I slacked off. But I’m back with a vengeance with two playlists featuring the very best of what I’ve been listening to this year so far.

The first celebrates the release of Shame‘s debut album, a new one from Hookworms and the return of Glassjaw, as well as a new EP from The Number Ones, maybe my favourite late-to-the-party discovery ‘raingurl’ by yaeji and new-ish tracks from Iceage, Soccer Mommy, Sigrid and Talking Heads legend David Byrne.

The second, my March Playlist, covers new albums from Turnstile and Camp Cope, sass-your-way-through-the-morning-commute bangers from Janelle Monáe and MNEK, scream-alongs by Courtney Barnett and Slaughter Beach, Dog, and cry-alongs including Frank Ocean‘s ‘Moon River’ cover and a powerfully somber new one from Grouper.

Follow me on Spotify for all my monthly playlists, I promise I’ll keep up this time…
