Last weekend I posted about the launch of Vice Mag‘s brand new series Fashion Week Internationale, and here is the first episode! It focuses on Islamabad Fashion Week, where Vice travelled to a hotel basement come bomb shelter and met Tariq Amin – the man who brought fashion to Pakistan – to watch a fashion show unfold in a country more notorious for its violence than anything else, especially its contribution to the world of fashion. It definitely makes for some interesting viewing, check out the episode below and stay tuned for more.
Today I was featured on the wonderful InexpensiveChic! Be sure to check out the post here, and of course follow InexpensiveChic.
Everyone loves American Apparel, and the classic Disco Short is definitely an AA favourite, but the £45 price tag isn’t! For a fraction of a price, you can make your own ‘close enough’ pair. You will need:
- One pair of plain black (or any other colour you desire) cycling shorts
- One button
- Needle and thread
- Apply your base coat – can be clear or any colour, depending on how much of your nail you want marbled, here I’ve done the full nail over a clear base
- Choose 2 or 3 colours, preferably ones that will stand out and show up against each other. Here I’ve used Number 7 ‘Totally Teal’ and Barry M ‘Berry’ lilac.
- Once you’ve chosen your colours, put a blob of each around your nail, and whilst they’re still wet swirl them around however you’d like them with a toothpick or anything similar.
Following the unveiling of the Snow White skate decks in August, this week Supreme have released matching oxford shirts featuring an all over print of their interpretation of the iconic Disney Princess. Coming in three colourways, it is an undeniably ‘controversial’ piece that not everyone will be able to pull off (or indeed want to pull off!). What are your thoughts? Love or hate? Check out the images below, via Highsnobiety.
My favourite thing about maxis is that they are so versatile, and can dress up an otherwise plain outfit. They’re also great for the cold British A/W because you can wear as many pairs of tights and leggings as you like underneath, without looking ridiculous! Definitely a winter wardrobe staple. Here I’ve paired black with a bunch of leopard print accessories – you can never have too many right?
It has not stopped raining in North England over the past few days! I wore this, with ankle boots instead of heels, whilst trekking around Leeds on Saturday. The heatwave in England is well and truly over, so the jumpers are coming back out. I love winter wardrobes and cute umbrellas, but I do not love rain! What’s your favourite weather-specific styles are your favourite?
The Quiet Riot is a Singapore based brand, loved by fashion bloggers across the world. According to their website, ‘The Quiet Riot is a peaceful demonstration fed by a love for fashion, music and photography.’ Thankfully, The Quiet Riot ship worldwide, and although this is a little pricey at approximately £15 to the UK, the gorgeous and extremely reasonably priced items make it worthwhile. It is imperative that I own the Alexander Wang-esque Seyfried Satchal and the Killer Spike Loafers, and I especially love how the tote bags come with a separate pouch for small items, so that you can locate them easily – genius! Check out just some of my favourites below, and please note that the price in £ is approximate. Also, take a look at the The Quiet Riot blog here.
