I ordered these leggings from Topshop last week, after waiting forever for them to come online after seeing them in the lookbook! I absolutely had to have them. Here I’ve paired them with a blue velvet top because I love the colour clash of royal blue and gold/yellow, but they’ll also look great with a black velvet or sheer button-up shirt or a whole array of printed t-shirts.
Today I wore my multi-glitter Topshop skater dress, but with a checked shirt over the top tied at the waist, black tights and black creepers, but I wanted to show off how pretty it is without lots of extras! It looks great with heels for the evening or layered up with flats for daytime. I’m also wearing a new Topshop lipstick which I received free with an order and I’m really impressed with it! The shade is ‘All About Me’ and it’s a matte finish bright pink colour, I really like it.
High street stores taking a little too much inspiration from high end designers is a somewhat controversial topic which inspires arguments over what ‘true fashion’ is and whether or not you need money to achieve it, etc etc! Although I can’t stand ‘fake’ designer goods such as ‘Vivienne Westwood’ bags with a dodgy looking orb logo because they’re so obviously fake, in my opinion you can’t beat a good designer rip-off (and yes there is a fine line between the two!)
If you loved the Miu Miu Fall 2011 shoe collection but couldn’t quite scrape together enough cash for a pair of your own, now is the time to head over to Topshop (especially if you’re a student – 20% discount ends midnight on Sunday) and grab yourself a pair of their ‘Jamaica Curved Heel Glitz Shoes’ (above) for £55. Check out some of the considerably more pricey Miu Miu versions below – the black and gold Topshop Jamaica shoe looks as if it could be the love child of the Miu Miu glitter & calf hair pump and the glitter finish curved heel pump!
I haven’t done a ‘latest purchases’ post in a while, but I just had a very brief splurge with my mum and wanted to post my buys which I’m pretty pleased with.
As you may already know, I’m hugely into nail art and although I’m not the best, I can’t stand to have just one colour on my fingertips any more! However, I appreciate that some of my favourite designs are quite difficult to do; my answer to anyone who claims that they can’t have exciting nails because they ‘can’t do them’ – glitter polish! I added this Technic ‘Carnival’ glitter to my collection (along with my favourite Models Own ‘Juicy Jules’ glitter polish) today, and especially at just 99p from Bodycare I am in love. It looks great over black, and I can’t wait to try it over silver, deep blue, or even fluorescent pink. Do you like it?
You might’ve seen my post about my new glittery midi skirt from Primark, so here’s how I styled it! Being black, it’s a pretty versatile piece so I can wear it with so many other things too, which I always love about a garment.
What do you think? Leave me your Lookbook urls in a comment below, I’m always interested to check out my readers’ style.
As about half my wardrobe is black, black being a constantly reoccurring timeless winter trend is extremely handy. I’m always buying new black things, and where better to get basics on a budget that Primark! It’s obvious that anything bought in Primark isn’t exactly a great ‘find’, but with such low prices there’s sometimes no better value alternative, and it’s much easier than spending hours trawling through vintage or charity shops to save only a few pounds. I paid a very quick visit to Primark this week, and if you can stand the mess and the crowds I’d advise you to do the same soon if you want to pick up these items! Here’s what I got:
