I never did the post-sixth-form girls’ holiday to a Sun-Sex-and-Suspicious-Parents destination, I don’t like house music, and I burn very easily. I had, therefore, never really considered Ibiza, the be all and end all of party islands, as a holiday destination, until I was invited to visit for a long weekend by Sol House hotel.
After a short time there, I discovered that Ibiza itself is beautiful, in a way that I do not think it is renowned enough for. Away from the clubs it has characterful architecture, it has turquoise water that could fool your Instagram followers into thinking you were in the Maldives, and it has sunsets to rival those you might expect of Miami. It is mad, it is fun, but it is breathtaking.
I stayed at the newly renovated Sol House Mixed by Ibiza Rocks is a collaboration between the four star hotel and world famous Ibiza Rocks. It means that you can experience the party side of Ibiza, with daytime pool discos and evenings on the rooftop (which! has! an! infinity! pool!) and a relatively short taxi to ‘the strip’ should you wish to visit, but also that you can retire to an altogether more comfortable and luxurious environment (including a v comfortable room and those amazing outdoor double ‘Bali beds’ by the pool).
On our final day, Zoe and I conducted a Kardashian-inspired photoshoot by the rooftop pool. If I didn’t have insurmountable respect for that family already, I do now, because shooting swimwear without falling about laughing every 10 seconds is almost impossible. In amongst the ~lols~, we got these photos of my Missguided ‘harness’ style bikini and fishnet coverup dress. Unfortunately this particular bikini is now sold out (ugh) but it is still available in red – if you are going to purchase I would recommend sizing down, as it stretches out a little in the water!

I was so not into the idea of Ibiza as it is totally not my scene at all but seeing some of my friends pictures it looks absolutely stunning. Also loving that bikini.

Yeah Ibiza is known for its parties, loud music and questionable visitors, but if we take all that back a little it must still be quite a pretty place to visit. I love how blue the water is, and your photoshoot ends up looking great, all the posing was worth it! 😉
