Fashion Scout is renowned for showcasing the best up and coming designers, and so the shows they host make for exciting viewing. I sat and stood through a few this fashion week, and here are some of my favourites.
CASSANDRA VERITY GREEN
There was a lot of hype surrounding CSM knitwear graduate Cassandra Verity Green’s collection, which was part of the ‘Ones To Watch’ showcase at Fashion Scout. Models sporting choppy, brightly coloured wigs wore beaded crochet, clear plastic, lots of fluff, and the wackiest bristly coat and crazy 7ft tall latex fashion personality Pandemonia was sitting front row.
CCUOCO
One of the most fun shows I had the pleasure of being present at was Ccuoco. The collection was almost entirely leather, in a variety of colours and finishes. My particular favourites were the white pieces with back detailing, especially the alternative wedding dress pictured above. The whole vibe was very punky and cool, a feeling cemented by the Hells Angels seated in the front row.
JAY BRIGGS
The last thing I viewed at Fashion Scout was Jay Briggs’ magnificent debut collection. Jay is a recent University of Salford graduate, whose highly luxurious clothing and headwear is so beautifully crafted, with mind-blowing levels of detail. It isn’t exactly wearable fashion, but artistically beautiful all the same. The one very ethereal looking live model positioned amongst the mannequins really stood out in a feathered gown with a dramatic silhouette and particularly intricate headpiece.

Voila! I caught a few more shows at Fashion Scout but I think that these three were my favourites. Do you like the look of any of these collections? I have tried to pick a variety of different aesthetics, but I think that even this small snapshot just goes to show how much young British design talent there is at the moment, I’m feeling inspired!
