With the horrible weather we’re having at the moment, I’ve had a sudden urge to blog all the summery outfits I’ve photographed over the past few weeks. Here’s hoping for a little more sun before winter kicks in, but I am really excited to wear all my coats again! This is a super fun, super casual, somewhat practical and also very bargainous outfit I wore on a hot day of hanging out with friends and seeing some bands a couple of weeks ago. The shorts are another American Apparel dupe, this time from 6ks, and are only £15.50 as opposed to the much heftier AA price tag of £54! My bralet style top is also very reasonably priced at £5.99, and although Vans Sk8 His now retail at around £50 they’re probably my most worn shoe and so are totally worth the price tag! Mine are completely battered now, so I need to reiterate this to myself as justification for repurchasing.
Wildfox as a brand is the epitome of relaxed, summer’s day cool for me. I had the most overwhelming urge to live by a beach or something when I put on this adorable ‘heart bra’ sweater! For a day of hanging about the sun with some friends and a dog, I threw it on over a plain playsuit from Missguided (which you’ve seen before in this post), and these fab lace-up sandals from Desire which I’ve been obsessed with ever since I saw them on Emily‘s Instagram. Now, beach holiday, anyone?

Here’s a bit more foliage print for you. This is quite a bold one! I sometimes don’t feel like a print as loud as this particularly suits skinny-and-pale old me, but hey ho I like it anyway. I tried to tone it down a little with a black sheer kimono, trainers, a plain bag and no jewellery other than my watch. I wore this outfit for dinner out with the fabulous Charlotte (who also kindly took these photos) when she visited Manchester What do you think?

I’m not really sure how to describe this outfit! I think it’s a little different to my usual style, even though my usual style is quite inconsistent anyway. I’m wearing the cutest tennis skirt from Sheinside – it’s one of the American Apparel dupes I blogged about here, and at £13 I couldn’t recommend it enough! If you’re wondering about sizing, definitely check the exact measurements on the SheInside website – I find this skirt to be smaller fitting than the American Apparel version in the same size. I paired it with this equally cute top from MXCI, I love how the daisy appliqués soften up the otherwise quite boyish and sporty mesh boxy t-shirt.

I can’t get enough of maxi shirts at the moment; worn open like a kimono, or buttoned down as a dress, or somewhere between the two like I did here and in this post from last month. I especially love this one from Missguided, a cute daisy print on a black base to keep it a bit more edgy! I wore it over a very basic black shorts and crop vest outfit here, with white sandals and a white bag (my current favourite, also from Missguided and currently on sale here!). What do you think?

It’s August (yikes!), which means it’s time for my July Style Crushes post. If you saw my June Style Crushes post, I promised to keep this up as a monthly feature to show some blogger love, and I have not forgotten! Without further ado, here are some bloggers and outfits I have loved this month:
Arabella – arabellagolby
I struggled to choose which of Arabella’s outfits to include in my Style Crushes post this month because THEY ARE ALL SO GOOD, but it had to be this one. The skirt is to die for and is just so Arabella, I think I need to borrow her whole wardrobe for my trip to Paris this month.
Kayla – kaylahadlington
Kayla aka queen of quirky vintage cool is another blogger whose outfits I have been obsessed with this month, I particularly loved this. Such beautiful photos, too!
Rosie – rosie-glow
Beautiful Rosie of rosie-glow has been showing off some amazing swimwear in poolside posts this month, I love love love this colourful bikini with a more boho sheer top and Birkenstock-esque sandals.
Charlotte – thingsidothinkandbuy
Pastel queen strikes again – Charlotte’s gorgeous outfit photos have me super envious of her beautiful Isle of Wight home and also of her ridiculous wardrobe. Mega babe!
Tilly – tillyjayne
Tilly is one of my more recent follows. I found her Instagram first, then fell in love with her style! I love this girly-but-still-edgy look, it’s definitely something I would wear but it looks so much better with Tilly’s amazing hair.
Sara – waiste
Sara is the ultimate boho goddess. I particularly loved this Missguided outfit because it demonstrates that you can still achieve this style in pieces from the high street and online, without having to be a car boot sale regular and charity shop expert (although a quick scroll through Sara’s blog shows that that definitely helps!)
Eleanore – contagiousblog
Last but not least, the newest blog on my list is contagiousblog. This one is especially exciting as it has numerous contributors, so has lots of really varied content. The highlight for me so far has been El’s stunning outfit posts, I can’t get enough and I’m so pleased that she has started blogging!

Hope you enjoyed this month’s Style Crushes and are feeling suitably inspired. Do let me know if you’ve done a similar post, I’d love to check them out!

If you’re an ASOS Fashion Finder user, you might have seen me there this morning alongside the lovely Helen from thelovecatsinc styling up a tropical printed piece from ASOS in five different ways. ASOS has a great range of tropical pieces at the moment; I went for this really fun button-down midi dress (which is currently on sale) because I love the fairly unique colouring and the fact that it has a black base too. Styling a printed dress in five ways seemed challenging at first but once I had a think about it I realised that it really isn’t that difficult, and I’m going to make more effort to do this with all my clothes. I hope you like the five looks, you can read a little bit about each on the Fashion Finder feature.
Which is your fave look? And would you like to see more posts like this?

Bodysuit – Missguided* | Kimono – Missguided* | Shorts – Primark | Shoes – My1stwish* | Bag – Primark | Necklace – Chelsea Doll*
Ok, so in case I haven’t gone on about this enough, IT IS REALLY HOT AT THE MOMENT!!!111!!!1! With that in mind, the timing of this little challenge that Missguided set me couldn’t be more apt – I had to choose a bodysuit from the super fun Miami Heat bodysuit edit, and style it up so it would be suitable for everyday wear.
I opted for this magical dream catcher bodysuit, and paired it with an equally dreamy white lace maxi kimono, also from Missguided. The bodysuit is backless so is perfect for hot weather, but it also has a little padding in the front which is great for practicality reasons – I didn’t feel at all uncomfortable going braless. As you can see in some of my photos, the kimono really is floor-sweeping length and so unfortunately living in a city means that the bottom few inches got very dirty very quickly, however I don’t mind too much and I think it is such a great piece to give a simple summery outfit the wow factor.
I continued the boho-ish vibe with a fringed bag and this really cool necklace from Chelsea Doll, and chose a simple pair of black denim shorts for my bottom half. What do you think? Would you style your swimwear up for everyday summer wear?

Sunglasses are the ultimate accessory – they protect your peepers from the sun whilst simultaneously making you look really cool, and they’re a great way to incorporate a bit of designer into an outfit without dropping ridiculous amounts of money on something like a handbag. I’ve selected a few of my favourite high end sunglasses from Sunglasses Save – I chose a range of colours and shapes, I generally prefer black or tortoiseshell frames as they go with almost any outfit, but I also love a colour pop and something like the Prada PR59MSs I chose would be a really fun way to add some colour to an outfit.

Here are some more photos that I’m really excited to share. They were taken by the talented Rachel (who also took these photos) on 35mm – I love film photography! I also really love this floral two piece; I like that the bottom half is trousers rather than shorts, and the print is so English summer country garden. I’ve also worn both pieces separately, so top marks for versatility. A loud outfit like this really doesn’t need much accessorising, so I simply paired it with my favourite ugly-but-cute sandals from My1stWish. What do you think?
PS: I’m giving away a Wildfox t-shirt on my Instagram, head over there to find out how to enter.
