Without meaning to sound too full of myself, I’m quite good at buying gifts for most people. I’m also really good at buying myself things that I want but absolutely don’t need throughout the course of the year. What I do struggle with, however, is being asked what I want for Christmas, so in the interest of being slightly more organised I’ve compiled a want-list in the hope that it might help inspire gift-buying for you from others, for your more difficult to buy for family and friends or, most importantly, from you to you (because you deserve it):
I feel like shopping. I am in an insatiable mood where I want to spend lots of money on things that I don’t necessarily need and definitely don’t have space for no matter how much I sell or give away (hey, buy my stuff on Depop), and the black hole of clothes, shoes, accessories and make-up that is ASOS is calling me. Whilst I scour the website for my own purposes, I thought it might useful to compile a list of really great things on the site at the moment, which all come in at under £50 each. PLUS you can get 20% off everything with the code YESPLEASE for today (Bank Holiday Monday) only, so you’re basically saving money too.

All of my wishlists and ‘save for later’ carts are full of off-the-shoulder tops. All of them. As I’ve rambled on about in recent posts, like this one and this one, I think they’re super elegant and make an outfit altogether slightly more interesting than it might otherwise be. I am envisioning my go-to summer outfit being an off-the-shoulder top worn over denim shorts, and in the mean time wearing them with kick flare jeans or a pretty midi skirt. My personal fave of this bunch is the indigo denim off-the-shoulder top, which I want to wear with jeans and a faux leather biker jacket immediately, and over off-white denim shorts in the summer.

Yep, I am enjoying a ruffle. A definite ‘micro trend’ of the moment, ruffles this season don’t necessarily have to be massive, romantic and unwearable. They can be small and elegant or bold and structured if girly girl isn’t really your look, and you don’t have to be able to afford Alexander McQueen (although look at these) to work it. Do a ruffle on the end of a sleeve (great if you have a big chest and struggle with too much fabric around the bust) or small ruffled collar (like I did in this outfit) to make the trend more wearable; or wear a shirt with a single, large ruffle across the front if you really want to embrace the trend. I’ve compiled a list of my favourites, from subtle to statement, at a range of affordable to high end investment piece (hello to that Self-Portrait blouse) prices. Happy shopping!
