You might’ve seen my post about my new glittery midi skirt from Primark, so here’s how I styled it! Being black, it’s a pretty versatile piece so I can wear it with so many other things too, which I always love about a garment.

I ordered these spike studs a while ago from ebay, and decided to customise a plain black skinny belt with them today, check out the result below. I still have some left, which I think I will use to embellish the collar on a shirt.
- Be sure to measure out and mark on where you’re going to put each stud, before you make any holes.
- Use sharp tools to ensure neatness (but be careful!)
- Start small – you can always make a hole bigger but if the hole is too big, it’s very difficult to fix.
Hardly the most challenging of projects, but I think it’s a simple way of making a basic item much more fun! However, I am not completely happy with the studs I bought, the screw is too long for the spike, so it sticks out of the bottom and doesn’t look neat (see picture below). This isn’t completely vital with something simple like a belt, but it could be very inconvenient in other projects. I bought them from the seller ethersell88, so if a similar issue would bother you, please be careful when buying your own spike studs.
A simple outfit which I wore this evening. I’d been eyeing these leggings up for a while, and even thinking of DIYing myself a pair, so when I saw some in my size in the Topshop sale I snapped them up. Someone described this look as ‘school girl meets grunge’ which I think is pretty accurate!
This midi length speckled t-shirt dress from Topshop can be styled in so many ways, but I thought that this, paired with a leather biker jacket, was a cute autumn/winter look. Here, I’ve brightened it up a tiny bit with leopard print details and Mac ‘Morange’ lipstick! The dress would look super cute with a pair of ankle boots too, either plain black or leopard print (both pictured below, from Topshop), or even ballet flats or slippers.

Happy Halloween everyone! Check out this video, directed by Babette Pauthier, which showcases some of the wonderful new collection of McQueen scarves in a spooky yet beautiful one minute long work of art.

Pauthier’s film features a series of the new collection scarves in dynamic motion, each of which features a variation of the iconic McQueen skull theme.
Many of the designs are inspired by details from Sarah Burton’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection for Alexander McQueen and feature key collection motifs such as broken porcelain, armour, feathers and tweed.

Metallics seem to be constantly in nowadays, which reminded me about this black and gold striped top I bought in a vintage shop in Harrogate years ago! Today I’ve paired it with my new pleated pleather skirt from Primark, and some gold glitter tights to match. I could wear this outfit out in an evening with a leather jacket or blazer and wedges, or dress it down with some little black booties for the daytime (which is what I’m wearing today).

Skirt – Primark
Tights – Topshop
