Orange Blazer

Another outfit from last week, featuring a new Choies blazer! As you may have gathered from some previous posts I’m a fan of orange at the moment, and this pale tangerine shade is perfect and summery. This particular colour is currently sold out, but you can keep your eye out for restocks or purchase it for a very reasonable £19.79 in one of the other five colours – I think white or pink would be my next choice! The blazer comes with shoulder pads, however I’ve removed mine for a more relaxed look. I wore it with a piece from the latest Rihanna x River Island collection – I’m not a Rihanna fan but I have been very much impressed by both of her River Island collaborations so far, save for a few more “interesting” pieces (those double jeans?!). I love this print and hope to acquire some more of it, but at £20 this dress (which is technically a top, but long enough to be a mini-dress for average height or petite ladies) was a no-brainer. I’m also wearing my favourite new MissGuided boots, Fashion Nonsense spiked necklace and a skull bangle from Chicnova. PS: how cute is the wallpaper in the hallway of my new flat?! Perhaps a post about it / mini tour is in order?

Flower Power

Playsuit – MeeMee* | Necklace – Fashion Nonsense* | Jacket – Topshop | Boots – Topshop | Bag – H&M

Yesterday I took a little ‘revision break’ trip to the cinema to see Iron Man 3 (would recommend!), and this is what I wore. I love the summery print of this MeeMee playsuit, but I wanted to ‘toughen it up’ a little to be more weather-appropriate, so I paired it with my Topshop leather biker and Adonis boots and this fab spiked necklace from Fashion Nonsense. My bag is another fairly recent addition – a simple black Givenchy Antigona shaped number, which was a very reasonable £15 (although I managed to bag it for £10 with an online deal a couple of weeks ago) from H&M.

Sister Jane

Dress – Sister Jane @ MeeMee* | Boots – Topshop

Sister Jane is a brand I’ve been fond of for a while (you might remember I did a ‘Brand Love’ post on them back in August last year), so I was super happy to receive one of their dresses from MeeMee.com this week! The dress I’m wearing is the ‘Contrast Collar and Cuffs‘ dress, which MeeMee currently have on sale for £50 (RRP £68). It is reasonably thick and warm, which combined with the 3/4 length sleeves, (faux) leather accents and subtle metallic thread detail, makes it perfect for winter whilst the ‘built in’ collar spikes & chain toughen it up. It’s a great daytime dress with tights and boots and a big coat or leather jacket, but it could easily be dressed up with heels and a faux fur or feather coat like this for a wintery evening out. The fit is true to size in my opinion, and the dress also looks cute belted if you prefer a cinched in waist!

Suit Up!

After lusting over this Topshop floral co-ord combination ‘suit’ for weeks and weeks, I could not resist it when it went into the sale! Here I’m wearing it with my new sequin peplum top from AX Paris*, which I think is the perfect piece to glam up an outfit like this or even something simple like high waisted skinny jeans. I’m also wearing a new pair of spiked loafers from Romwe* in a gorgeous turquoise colour, which are a perfect match with my suit!

Lazy Oaf

Dress – Lazy Oaf | Creepers – Underground | Clutch – Oasap* | Stockings – Charnon @ Tights Please*

Today I wore what is currently my favourite dress, the ‘Skull Repeat Skater Dress‘ from Lazy Oaf, which I got on ASOS during a 25% off for students weekend. Obviously the dress is a very bold print and so in my opinion does not need much accessorising, so I chose simple a few silver bracelets and necklaces, a black and silver studded clutch from Oasap, black creepers and Mac Morange lipstick. I’m also wearing a pair of gorgeous Charnos Elegance Ultra Sheer Stockings which I received from Tights Please in preparation for National Stockings Day (part of Breast Cancer Care Month) on October 19th. All I need to really complete this look is the new Lazy Oaf x Underground glitter creepers!

BooHoo Boutique Collection

BooHoo has never really stood out to me in the past and I viewed it only as a good place to buy cheap basics, but its new ‘Boutique’ collection is both impressive and still very affordable! The collection is full of heavy embellishment: sequined and studded trophy jackets, brocade fabrics, spiked shoes and gorgeous repeat patterns on both daytime and party wear. At a measly (in comparison to other high street and online competitors) £45, the trophy jackets from the collection are probably my favourite pieces as they are both striking and versatile – wear one during the day with a jersey pencil skirt or skinny jeans and ankle boots or with a dress for the evening. I also love the Lexie Dress and embellished tops.

All That Glitters Is Gold: Introducing missikon.com!

Getting dressed up for a night out doesn’t mean you have to wear heels! For those of you who struggle to endure a whole night in 5″ platforms, spiked or studded flats are a great alternative. I’m wearing the Studded Flat Shoes* from Missikon – they look amazing and are practical for a night out as well as being easy to dress down for a day-time look. I would strongly advise buying a size up from your usual in these, because they are small fitting.
My top is the Gold Sequence Dress*, also from Missikon, and I have tucked it into my trusty black American Apparel Disco Short.

Double Cross.

London based boutique Naked Bones recently launched their Monochrome Collection which includes this awesome ‘Double Cross‘ design. The ‘Double Cross’ is available in two colourways – white on black or black on white – and there are two fabric choices for the crosses – glitter or faux leather, and at £14.99 (or if you’d like a vest it’s £12.99, or £16.99 for a sweatshirt) it’s a real bargain! Here I’ve paired it with a black and silver glittery midi skirt from Primark last year, and my amazing new JC Vicious style ‘Sasha Sculpted Wedge Spike Sandals‘ from Tribeca Shoes. I accessorised with a spiked head chain from Oasap and some awesome spiked bracelets and a fang double finger ring from The Prettiest Things.

I absolutely love the look of my Oasap spiked head chain, however the elastic broke when I took it off my head, so I wouldn’t recommend buying it! It is repairable, but not ideal. (PS: please excuse my awful roots).

There are links to both bracelets and my new ring from The Prettiest Things at the top of this post, I can’t fault them and they’re so reasonably priced at £3-£4 each.

These shoes are insane, as anyone can see! Size-wise they’re quite small-fitting, I would recommend going half a size down if possible. They aren’t too difficult to walk in if you’re used to heels, but the sole is very narrow so I personally am probably going to save these for evenings out which involve more sitting down, meals and parties for example, rather than nights out in clubs as I wouldn’t want to go over on my ankle!

Motel Rocks!

Playsuit – c/o Motel | Shoes – Romwe

Yesterday morning I received this gorgeous playsuit courtesy of Motel, just in time to wear it to my boyfriend’s sister and her husband’s post-wedding party! I chose the Valentine Open Back Playsuit in Floral Navy Pink Rose – I absolutely love the print and the unique structure of the playsuit which appears almost like a matching top and shorts and features a pretty cut out triangle in the lower back.

Here I’m wearing it with opaque black tights and pink spiked glitter flats from Romwe, but it could easily be made more casual with a denim jacket and platform trainers or dressed up more with big chunky heels and bright accessories.
