As promised, part deux of my mini styling series with Missguided – ‘Go Hard or Go Home’. Now despite the fact that I am (rather misleadingly) outdoors rather than at home, this is the ‘Go Home’ part – you can see my ‘Go Hard’ party outfit here. For something suitable for casual everyday to comfy night in, I based my outfit around knitwear, specifically this excellent black ribbed roll neck which I have worn so much already. I paired it with some ultra skinny faux leather trousers with ripped knees (how very rock of me) and this very cool dark denim jacket with a black shearling collar, which I’m really looking forward to wearing more when the weather gets a little milder. I’m also wearing yet another pair of black ankle boots (somebody stop me!!!) and a subtle pop of colour and print in this Status Anxiety bag.
Do you prefer ‘Go Hard’ or ‘Go Home’?

‘Go Hard or Go Home’ – party season is getting into full swing, but the nights are also getting colder and generally lending themselves more to a cosy night in with a hot chocolate, so Missguided have asked me to style up a ‘go hard’ and a ‘go home’ outfit to show you guys what I’m wearing for both occasions at the moment! This, as I hope you can tell, is my ‘go hard’ outfit – I chose a cute feather trimmed co-ord which would be ideal for any sort of party or night out over the festive season and beyond. You could definitely wear it with some ankle boots for a slightly more casual party look, but here I styled it with some simple but classy court shoes, and continued the fluffy theme with this super cute clutch bag. My Zara faux leather jacket perfectly matches the shoes too, I love it when that happens!
Thoughts? Would you wear this out? Come back on Friday so see the ‘Go Home’ part of this little series!

Cape – New Look* (similar)
Photos by Jenny Winstone
Oops, I’m back in a blanket cape and high boots. This combo has been a definite blogger favourite of recent months, and one I have worn on more than one occasion myself (remember this look from fashion week?), so I’m sorry for replicating what you’ve seen a million times before! How fun is this New Look cape though? Unfortunately this particular one is out of stock online now, but they do have plenty similar like this one, this one and this one, and they have loads of other alternatives to choose from too (I love this, personally!).
I’m also quite liking the all black outfit underneath the cape – I have been wearing this longline roll neck jumper from Missguided non-stop since I got it, and I like the texture clash between it, my faux leather skirt that is peeking out from underneath, and my faux suede boots. Thoughts?

Hat – Primark*

Another very casual outfit for you, in the same vein as the last one I posted featuring these fab 7 For All Mankind jeans. This time I paired them with a basic white roll neck, trusty leather biker, and what I guess are ‘statement boots’ from Fashion Pills – the boots are currently on sale for £28, how great?! In the spirit of good deals, don’t forget to check out all the Black Friday / Cyber Monday discounts and sales which I’ve posted about here, and my giveaway to win a pair of 7FAM jeans (which you have one day left to enter) here.
I’m also sporting this absolutely gorgeous Oushka saddlebag style handbag, I’m obsessed with the super soft leather and contrast print textured flap. Thoughts?

Coat – F&F* (similar)
Photos by Jenny Winstone
If you follow me on Twitter, you might have seen that I hosted a ‘style dilemma’ competition with F&F – my winner’s dilemma was that they were travelling to Switzerland for a work event, and needed something party appropriate. This is what I came up with to solve her dilemma! The red Yumi dress is ideal party wear with the heavy embellishment around the collar, whilst the leopard print coat and court shoes (which are extremely comfortable by the way) keep it classy and work appropriate too. I also suggested a pair of black opaque tights, if it was particularly cold. Thoughts?

Comfortable weekend dressing at its very best – jeans, a jumper, DMs and a biker jacket. These new pieces are some of the best quality basics I own – on the whole I far prefer splashing out on basic / go-with-everything pieces than on more statement-making things, because I know I’ll get far more wear out of a cashmere jumper and quality pair of jeans than I would out of a fancy dress or something that fulfils a temporary lust for a more transient trend. Both the jeans and the jumper are from 7 For All Mankind, who I talked about in my last post (there’s also a 7FAM giveaway there, if you missed it) – both are around the £200 mark, which for me and I know for many of my readers is expensive, but a quality investment is necessary sometimes and essentials like these are a good place to start if you’re looking into buying higher end. I talked a little about the fit of these jeans in my last post but I can’t get enough of them, plus I think they look great with my new DMs from Shoetique (still available on the website in off white on sale at £79.95, or if you’re desperate for the black pair you can get them here). I’m also wearing a green faux leather biker which I just had to have when I spotted it in Zara for £29.99 – even though they only had size large left, I actually think it looks quite good oversized!
Finally, my bag is from Beara Beara and is my current fave for university. It’s (obviously) a backpack so much more suitable for carting heavy things around than a handbag is, it’s super durable so no need to replace it year after year, and it fits up to a 15″ laptop so it is plenty roomy. Plus, Beara Beara is a family run independent business so it’s win-win!
Thoughts on this comfy weekend outfit? Don’t forget to enter my 7 For All Mankind giveaway to win your own pair of high end jeans!

Bag – Parcel and Journey* | Shoes – Primark*
Is it too early to plan your Christmas and New Year’s Eve party looks? Evidently not! Admittedly when I was asked to choose and style a NYE party outfit for ASOS Fashion Finder I was a little alarmed (and filled with terror and despair at the thought of yet another year passing by, and the fact that this NYE post is preceding any Christmas posts), but then I cheered up and got excited about all the glitter. A little superficial perhaps, but glitter > being sad! You can check out my feature on ASOS Fashion Finder here.
For my NYE outfit, I wanted a bit of sparkle without going for the more predictable sequins. This tinsel skirt is more subtle and super cute! If you did want more of a full on look there’s a matching top so you can wear the fabric as a co-ord, instead I went for a really beautiful and simple nude silky cami which I think looks way more expensive than the £20 it costs. The more indulgent and glamorous part of my outfit comes in the form of this fabulous and super soft cream faux fur coat. Not exactly club wear, but as many New Year parties involve periods of time standing outside watching fireworks, some party appropriate outerwear is essential for me.
Accessories-wise, I didn’t wear any jewellery (although a few simple silver pendants would be nice) but did wear the sweetest glittery shoes from Primark, and very striking and edgy statement envelope clutch from Parcel & Journey. My lipstick is Limecrime’s Velvetine in ‘Wicked’, just FYI! Thoughts? Have you planned your NYE outfit yet, and does this help? I also have a Pinterest board for Christmas party dresses, if you’re in need of some more inspo!

Boots – ASOS (similar) | Watch – Daniel Wellington*
Another early sunset, another set of dark and not-that-great photos – sigh. I think you get the general idea, though! I went super 60s again with this outfit – it is really getting to the point where I could well be going to a themed fancy dress party, but I think I’m ok with that. With my favourite ASOS thigh high boots (still awaiting a restock, but there’s a similar pair here), I wore a new burgundy shift dress from Glamorous which is super cute (and needs ironing, sorry about that) and long-serving black American Apparel roll neck top. I’m also wearing my go-to coat at the moment, which you’ll have seen if you follow me on Instagram – a faux shearling number which is very similar to one I saw in Zara recently, and only £23! Finally, the only accessory I’m wearing is a beautiful Daniel Wellington watch with a brown leather strap and silver hardware – I love this combo and how it works with the large, clean white face of the watch. You can get 15% off Daniel Wellington with my code ‘hannahlouisef’ too! Thoughts?

You might remember seeing this post last month all about my fun photoshoot at We Are Cow’s lovely new Manchester store – here’s part 2! All items that are still available on the website are linked, and I’ve suggested similar things wherever possible too.
Read my Blogger’s Choice interview here, and let me know which look is your fave 🙂
LOOK #1
Potentially my favourite from this selection, is this winter-boho-y combination of leather, faux fur and a paisley printed skirt. I think I’d definitely have taken this skirt with me if it had fitted (it’s pinned here!), it’s a great example of a pretty print that is also wearable in colder weather.
LOOK #2
Jumper – We Are Cow (similar) | Trousers – We Are Cow | Boots – Missguided* (my own)
This look is the more casual from this set – I really love these trousers and they’re super similar to a pair of Topshop Boutique silk joggers from a few years ago which I still very much covet. Plus, you can’t go wrong with an oversized checked knit.
LOOK #3
For my final look, I found a pile of these super patriotic USA related t-shirts and decided to really go all out with the theme. These incredible red/orange suede trousers were the perfect match, frankly I can’t believe they’re still in stock because they’re just SO COOL (and if they’d been a better fit on me I’d totally have them). Throw on a giant stars & stripes flag, and voila.
Check out a little video and loads more photos after the page break, or back to Part 1 of this series here.

This outfit is very much inspired by something I saw Millie Mackintosh wearing at the launch of her own clothing collection at the Manchester House of Fraser (see below!). My own outfit is slightly more budget friendly, so all the better for your bank balance.
Millie’s dress was from her own collection (shop here!), whereas my dress is from Blue Vanilla – I love the print and the cut, and it works so well over a crisp white shirt (mine is from SheInside, and is a great piece in itself as it’s a lovely long, slim fit). I threw on a pink fluffy teddy coat over the top – this one is from LilyLulu, whom I recently put together an edit for which you can shop here and get 20% off with my code HLF20!. I’m also wearing those ASOS boots – coveted by pretty much everyone I follow on Instagram, but who can blame us really? They’re thigh high and fit far more snugly than any other similar boots I’ve seen, and they’re a fairly reasonable £50 (as opposed to the gorgeous but very pricey Russell & Bromley pair that Millie wore). The ASOS pair is currently sold out but fingers crossed for a restock – if you can’t wait, these or these are a nice alternative.
It’s rather fitting that my outfit is Millie inspired, because I’m also wearing some of her latest jewellery collection for Dorothy Perkins. The whole collection is really nice and reasonably priced, but as I generally prefer silver over gold I went for the matching pink and purple necklace, bracelet, and earrings. A perfect match for the pinks and purples of my dress! Have you picked up anything from the collection?
I wore this outfit for lunch with the wonderful Victoria (whose blog I’m sure you already read, but if you don’t you certainly should!) who kindly took these photos.
