Almost every girl loves mermaids and the SS12 trend for all things underwater-fantasy is the perfect opportunity to channel your inner Ariel. I’ve been in love with this Topshop Premium Silk Shimmer Pleated Dip Hem Skirt since it first came to my attention but at £65 I chose not to buy it. Luckily for me it’s now in the sale for £35 or £30 for petite and tall versions (I’m wearing petite), so I jumped at the chance! The skirt is 65% silk and 35% metallic fibre and so feels very luxurious as well as looking ultra girly and pretty. Here I’ve paired it with an equally feminine mint green sheer blouse bought years ago in Primark and some nude heels from Garage, but I also can’t wait to wear it a black button-up or white crop tee and black leather biker jacket to toughen it up a little too!
Today I wore a Ralph Lauren button-up which I got from the Cheshire Oaks outlet for £35, a grey jersey skirt from H&M pulled in with a pale pink skinny belt, black tights and leopard print slippers from Next for a Sunday trip to my grandma’s for roast dinner!
I love Cara Delevinge, I love amazing clothes and I love baby animals, so this series of photoshoots by Nick Knight for SHOWstudio, collectively entitled ‘Pussycat, Pussycat’, are a dream! Inspired by “internet memes, animal GIFs and Autumn/Winter 2012’s taste for grown-up, blown-up overdressing” Cara looks stunning in various designers including Medham Kirchhoff, Prada, Rochas and Valentino, and in jewellery from Fabergé, Van Cleef and Arpels, Cartier, Solange Azagury-Partridge and Delfina Delettrez. However, these editorials are a little unorthodox as they were shot and edited using only the popular iPhone app Instagram. Check out a few of my favourite images from the six looks below and view the rest on the SHOWstudio blog. I love the way they turned out, what are your thoughts?
Here’s a look at the second item in my YourEyesLie.co.uk package, the Navo Crop Top. Normally I choose to avoid v-neck tops but I love the cut of this one and the print is so cute! The pale pink colour is ideal for summer too. Here I’ve paired it with mint green skinny jeans from Primark, a studded shoulder vintage denim jacket and Nike Air Max 90s. I’m also wearing a new ear cuff! What do you think?
I have far too many clothes! Gradually I’m having a clear out, and because I simply cannot be bothered with the hassle of ebay I’ve made a Bigcartel to sell some of my things. I’ll be adding new things all the time, including new and used clothes, shoes and accessories all at reduced prices, so keep checking back!
Pastel colours are always perfect for spring and summer, and this year I’ve become particularly obsessed with them! Here I’ve gone a little overboard with colour-blocking pastels, using a neutral grey blazer to tone down the outfit and make it more wearable.
Continuing with the theme of great shoe collaborations, allow me to present the new Lazy Oaf x Underground ‘Minnie’ Creeper! The single-sole creeper combines all the usual quality features of an Underground shoe with a cute and quirky Lazy Oaf-esque red and white polka dot print suede front panel and bright yellow laces. The collaboration was initially only available at the Underground x Candy Pop Up Shop at La Foret, Tokyo, but due to popular demand will be hitting the Lazy Oaf online store soon. Unfortunately for some, the collaboration is only available in UK sizes 4-7, but on the bright side will be no more expensive than other Underground creepers at £85. For your chance to own this super limited piece, keep your eye on the Lazy Oaf online store or email alex@lazyoaf.com to be notified when the Minnie Creeper is in stock.
Jeffrey Campbell is providing us with amazing collaboration after amazing collaboration at the moment. This time, JC has worked with online legends Black Milk to produce this mind blowing seven piece collection which is exclusive to Solestruck. Combining popular Black Milk prints such as ‘Bone Machine’, ‘Sick of Men’ and the iconic ‘Rainbow Galaxy’ with JC classics like the Lita, Night Lita, Back Off, Damsel and 99 Tie, the BM x JC collection is truly to die for. Solestruck have just put each model online for preorder, with the promise of each shoe eventually being available in all three prints. Check out images of each shoe below (via Solestruck).
I received this beautiful Galaxy Plat Strap Maxi Dress in the post today, courtesy of AX Paris. It’s perfect with a lightweight denim jacket and sandals for warm summery weather like we’ve been having in England this week, or could be dressed up with a pair of heels for a meal or evening out. The fit of the dress is ideal and super flattering for most body shapes. Additionally, the ever popular galaxy print is really striking and any of the three dresses in the Galaxy Collection is sure to turn a few heads.
