I recently received the most amazing gift package! ghd was already my favourite brand for straighteners, my first hair styler (which I shared with my mum) was ghd and I’ve been unable to find any brand whose flat iron quite matches up. Fortunately ghds come with a 2 year guarantee and need replacing less often than that, so despite being expensive in comparison to other brands, price per use they probably work out much better value. It isn’t just me who loves ghd: the company was voted as a Coolbrand for 2012 by the Superbrands’ CoolBrands Initiative and won best life-changing product in the Fabulous 2012 Beauty Awards, as well as many more. ghd’s latest collection, the ‘Candy Collection’, is inspired by retro sweetshop favourites, and consists of the acclaimed IV professional styler in three super sweet colours: yellow, mint and violet. ghd was kind enough to gift me the mint styler! I entered this look into Lookbook’s River Island contest for a chance to win a £1000 shopping spree at RI, so I would hugely appreciate it if you could all ‘hype’ my look!
Comment below if you have hyped it and I’ll be sure to check out your blog, and let me know if I can return the favour in any way!
I’m wearing River Island’s gorgeous peplum top, which is definitely becoming one of my favourite pieces, and some mint green, ‘smart’ shorts I got in the Topshop sale. I accessorised with a cute lilac grab bag from Topshop, and Vivienne Westwood x Melissa lilac lady dragon heels with skull detailing, which I got in the sale at Selfridges for £29!
I was surprised this week with an awesome package from the lovely Naked Bones, including a few pieces from their latest collection, entitled ‘Metal Candy‘. The collection features a selection of garments including sweaters, crop tops and leggings, in sugary sweet shades such as candyfloss pink, mint green and lemon yellow, accented with sparkling ‘crystal’ pockets in a variety of colours. With pieces ranging from £12.99 to £19.99, the collection is affordable for everyone and certainly not one to miss out on!
My look (above) features the Streaked Sweater (£16.99) in ‘candyfloss pink’ with a silver crystal pocket. Here I paired it with galaxy leggings from Miss Selfridge and spiked pink glitter slippers from Romwe.
Pastel colours are always perfect for spring and summer, and this year I’ve become particularly obsessed with them! Here I’ve gone a little overboard with colour-blocking pastels, using a neutral grey blazer to tone down the outfit and make it more wearable.
This week I went for a simple nail design, combining two pretty pastels by Barry M: ‘308 Berry’ and ‘304 Mint Green’. I also used a Rimmel mattifying topcoat to complete the look.
