An Afternoon at Hancocks Jewellers

Trying on diamonds and sipping champagne at Hancocks jewellers in Manchester was not a bad way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon! I was invited by the lovely, family run and internationally renowned business to experience the store and learn about their jewellery.

The team were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and I left dreaming of the £148,000 yellow diamond ring and £60,000 diamond necklace (!!!) that I tried on. Obviously there are more affordable pieces too, we were advised that customers can state their budget before starting browsing in order to have the best possible shopping experience. Whilst I have no plans to get engaged in the near or even fairly distant future, I definitely imagine that Hancocks is the kind of place I would like to get a ring from.

I also got this very snazzy Georg Jensen device in a very sweet goodie bag, which is for hanging your handbag from your desk!

Introducing: Zophra

I’m always on the lookout for interesting jewellery sites, as jewellery is something which I always feel I don’t have enough of. My latest discovery is Zophra, who stock a great range of reasonably priced necklaces, bracelets, earrings and other accessories. Zophra were kind enough to send me a couple of pieces (pictured below); the black beaded collar is my favourite – I love black jewellery worn with pale clothing, and the jewelled hair pin is so pretty! Polo Neck plus Jewellery Giveaway!

Yesterday was my boyfriend’s birthday, and this is what I wore for lunch out and hanging out with his family. I’m obsessed with my new bag; it’s by New Look but I got it on ASOS, is the perfect monochrome accessory and better yet it’s only £15! What is on your Christmas Jewellery Wishlist?

Selecting Christmas jewellery is
always a tough one! Should you either buy lots of jewellery to accessorise with all
of your party outfits, or whilst you have the choice of getting a gift from a
family member or other half do you go for one key designer piece?

Following the trend,

Double Cross.

London based boutique Naked Bones recently launched their Monochrome Collection which includes this awesome ‘Double Cross‘ design. The ‘Double Cross’ is available in two colourways – white on black or black on white – and there are two fabric choices for the crosses – glitter or faux leather, and at £14.99 (or if you’d like a vest it’s £12.99, or £16.99 for a sweatshirt) it’s a real bargain! Here I’ve paired it with a black and silver glittery midi skirt from Primark last year, and my amazing new JC Vicious style ‘Sasha Sculpted Wedge Spike Sandals‘ from Tribeca Shoes. I accessorised with a spiked head chain from Oasap and some awesome spiked bracelets and a fang double finger ring from The Prettiest Things.

I absolutely love the look of my Oasap spiked head chain, however the elastic broke when I took it off my head, so I wouldn’t recommend buying it! It is repairable, but not ideal. (PS: please excuse my awful roots).

There are links to both bracelets and my new ring from The Prettiest Things at the top of this post, I can’t fault them and they’re so reasonably priced at £3-£4 each.

These shoes are insane, as anyone can see! Size-wise they’re quite small-fitting, I would recommend going half a size down if possible. They aren’t too difficult to walk in if you’re used to heels, but the sole is very narrow so I personally am probably going to save these for evenings out which involve more sitting down, meals and parties for example, rather than nights out in clubs as I wouldn’t want to go over on my ankle!

Romwe & Tights Please goodies!

Here’s my latest Lookbook post! I’m wearing a new t-shirt and earrings from Romwe.com, the American Apparel Disco Short, new House of Holland ‘Bones’ tights from tightsplease.co.uk and black Underground creepers.

I love this Givenchy-esque panther print t-shirt from Romwe.com which I purchased courtesy of Romwe’s generous blogger freebie allowance! The black obviously goes with everything while the print and sheer panel at the top simultaneously makes it an interesting piece.

The second item I purchased with my Romwe gift allowance was these gorgeous spike earrings. They’re a perfect statement piece without being too ‘in your face’ and are ideal for toughening up an otherwise neutral outfit.

Finally I completed my outfit with House of Holland’s ‘Bones’ tights. I’ve owned HoH tights before and can’t fault them; the quality is great as long as you’re very careful when putting them on (especially if your nails are long like mine!) and they look fab. These tights were a gift from the wonderful Tights Please where you can also purchase other HoH tights, socks and underwear with free UK delivery for a limited time!
