Tights Please recently set me a blogger challenge: styling a pair of coloured and patterned tights! The tights in question are the Red Or Dead Erica tights in cobalt. I really like the silver criss-cross pattern up each leg, however I’ve never worn blue tights before so building an outfit around them was definitely an interesting challenge for me. I decided to put include the tights in three different outfits for three different occasions:
Yesterday I arrived home to these beautiful shorts courtesy of Lavish Alice, and gorgeous stockings which were a gift from Tights Please! I decided to combine the elegant Charnos Marilyn Stockings with the statement shorts, as well as a loud, neon jumper (from Glamorous) and simple studded flats from Topshop to create an outfit of mixed textures which would be perfect for a casual evening out when the weather isn’t so warm. My shorts and jumper are both quite obnoxious pieces (in the best way possible, in my opinion!) so I kept accessories to a minim with dip dye earrings from Primark.
I recently won this gorgeous vintage bralet from eBay for £4.99 and I’ve been so excited to wear it! It’s a beautiful velvet fabric with simple silver and pearl coloured embellishment on each of the cups. This evening I paired it with a chiffon maxi skirt from American Apparel, House of Holland fishnet socks from Tights Please, Underground creepers and an Urban Outfitters camo jacket for a dressed down / dressed up look for a friend’s birthday gathering. The colours aren’t very summery considering the fact that it’s July at the moment, however neither is the weather!
I also have a few items on eBay at the moment which end later today, take a look here and also check out hannahswardrobe.bigcartel.com.
Weeks and weeks ago I placed an order with American Apparel for this gorgeous skirt and, due to it being a backorder, it finally arrived a few days ago! I’m completely in love with it, it was definitely worth the wait. It is the Short Charmeuse Gore Skirt in ‘dusty pink’ – normally £46 but at the time I had a 30% discount code, meaning that the skirt was a slightly more reasonable £32.30. I’ll be able to wear it with a white cropped t-shirt or baggy grey t-shirt and trainers for a dressed down look, use it to brighten up an otherwise black outfit like I have done here, or dress it up with an embellished top and heels for an evening out.
I’m also wearing House of Holland animal fishnet tights courtesy of the wonderful Tights Please, a polo neck crop top from ASOS (which I just realised makes my outfit almost exactly the same as the one on the model wearing the skirt on the AA website!) and black Underground creepers, also from ASOS.
You may also have noticed that I’m no longer hannahlousief.blogspot.co.uk, but finally have a custom domain name! Welcome to www.hannahlouisef.com ☺
I also have a few things for sale on eBay at the moment, all ening this weekend. Take a look here and don’t forget to check out hannahswardrobe.bigcartel.com and thepocketco.bigcartel.com too!
I’m also wearing this gorgeous Gossard bra which I received courtesy of Tights Please‘s sister site Lingerie Please. The bra, which features removable straps and cut out detail on the back, looks and feels amazing and I would definitely recommend it and Lingerie Please in general!
It might sound mundane to write this post from the ‘every girl needs a good LBD’ angle, but there is no other way to go about it because that statement is so true! This particular dress, which I received courtesy of AX Paris, is perfect: its use of faux leather panels and mesh make it an interesting and slightly different take on a classic LBD, whilst the figure hugging fabrics make it super flattering too. Here I decided to accessorise the black only with silver, including heels from Topshop, a simple clutch bag from Primark and these amazing embellished tights by Pretty Polly, which I received courtesy of Tights Please.
Click here to check out the dress over at AX Paris, now on sale for £19.99, and click here to view the Pretty Polly tights @ Tights Please which are £12.49 with free UK delivery.
Here I’m wearing a brand new sequin dress by Motel which I picked up for £18 in the sale (how could I resist?!) and another pair of House of Holland tights, this time the ‘all over bones‘ print, courtesy of the wonderful Tights Please.
I absolutely love the dress, although if I had one criticism it would be that the shape isn’t super flattering because it is tight around my chest and hips but not around my waist. However, it’s nothing that a few pins cannot fix (as shown in these photos) and overall I love the dress – especially for £18.
The tights are super cute too! Once again I cannot fault HoH on the quality of their legwear, and the bones print is adorable.
