One item of clothing I’ve been on the lookout for recently is a good pair of leather (faux or otherwise) trousers. I already have one fab pair from Missguided which have a really cool crocodile-skin effect, but I wanted something plainer to add to my collection and this pair from AX Paris are perfect! They’re not matte but aren’t too shiny, and also aren’t movement restricting-ly tight. The also have some nice detail on the knee, a non-leather strip on the inner leg and are faux leather so are vegi and vegan friendly. I think I will be getting a lot of wear out of them this winter, but here I paired them with another new piece from Choies – this very Alexander Wang-esque (I think so anyway!) textured jumper. I rolled the bottom cuff under here as the length sat awkwardly with the trousers, but I like that this jumper actually fits me rather than being cropped or oversized like most of my others. My adorable Choies Marc By Marc Jacobs-esque flats made an appearance too as it was a dry day.
I also wore my AMAZING new Primark coat which I’ve lived in since I finally got my hands on it after seeing it online months ago. It’s so fab I’m almost tempted to go back and buy another in case it bobbles easily… hm. At £32 it is a steal compared to pretty much every other high street alternative; all hail Primark!

As you might be able to tell, this is an outfit I wore a couple of weeks ago, whilst it was still somewhat warm – I’m currently freezing and haven’t quite worked out how to use the heating in my flat… . I couldn’t resist sharing it though, this coat is just amazing! I love the colours and especially the tailored style; it is another Zara-esque bargain at £24 from SheInside, and I’m hoping to still get plenty of wear out of it throughout winter too (layers are everything!!). Here I wore it over this super pretty Missguided dress, which I wore in my Missguided blogger edit but have also worn a bunch of times since. I love wearing it with a few different interesting necklaces, which I’m finally starting to build up a decent collection of. I especially love my obsidian pendant by IndigoMoon – you can currently order similar pendants and other one-of-a-kind jewels from the lovely Sarah on the IndigoMoon Facebook page.

What good is a winter wardrobe which doesn’t feature a bit (or a lot) of tartan? I found these trousers in Primark a few weeks ago (in their formal section along with a matching blazer which I didn’t quite have the guts to buy to complete the tartan suit, although I am somewhat regretting that decision now!). I love the dark colours and lack of red, I think that avoiding red tartan trousers altogether is the easiest way of sidestepping looking like you’ve bought a “Punk” costume for Halloween (that’s not to say that some people can’t rock them though). These are very subtle and easy to wear, and the shape is really great too!
Here I paired them with a mesh paneled top from Choies, amazing new imitation suede and sheepskin biker jacket from H&M. The jacket was a bargain £30 because I used a 25% discount code from an H&M email (I would definitely recommend signing up to their mailing list!), but even at full price (£39.99) it is definitely affordable and makes a nice change from the usual leather biker.

Another outfit from last week, featuring a new Choies blazer! As you may have gathered from some previous posts I’m a fan of orange at the moment, and this pale tangerine shade is perfect and summery. This particular colour is currently sold out, but you can keep your eye out for restocks or purchase it for a very reasonable £19.79 in one of the other five colours – I think white or pink would be my next choice! The blazer comes with shoulder pads, however I’ve removed mine for a more relaxed look. I wore it with a piece from the latest Rihanna x River Island collection – I’m not a Rihanna fan but I have been very much impressed by both of her River Island collaborations so far, save for a few more “interesting” pieces (those double jeans?!). I love this print and hope to acquire some more of it, but at £20 this dress (which is technically a top, but long enough to be a mini-dress for average height or petite ladies) was a no-brainer. I’m also wearing my favourite new MissGuided boots, Fashion Nonsense spiked necklace and a skull bangle from Chicnova. PS: how cute is the wallpaper in the hallway of my new flat?! Perhaps a post about it / mini tour is in order?
